I had a feeling there was more to this story, because we didn't hear much about the guy who stabbed him.
If this were a senseless attack, they would have said so. Instead it was just "Mark Sanchez was stabbed".

Looks like Sanchez was drunk and beating up on some guy that then proceeded to mace and stab him.
I really don't feel bad when I read about bad or violent people getting hurt. It's inevitable. FAFO and all that.

Based on alleged police report, it seems Sanchez was being a drunk asshole and got in the other guys face. And then the guy probably over-reacted and pepper sprayed him. And then Sanchez started beating on the guy (which a lot of people would do after being pepper sprayed) and then the guy stabbed him a few times.
Obviously none of this happens if Sanchez isn't being a drunk asshole. But seems the other guy might be one of those guys that walks around with weapons looking for an excuse to use them.
Sanchez says he has no recollection of that evening. Even if that isn't true, there really isn't anything he can say to justify his actions. So no real point in bothering.

charges for Sanchez upgraded to felony bodily injury (level 5) whatever that means but doesn't sound good for Mark...
very good videos here, in first video 1min 35 sec mark shows the old mans pummeled face, he threw the old man against the wall, in the dumpster and onto some wooden crates... Sanchez is only 38 yrs. old... i though he was older than that but apparently not... 2nd video is from the prosecutors office and police... 3rd video is witness account of aftermath...
edit: there is security footage but not yet released... i wanna see them god damn footages!!!

Most of the blood is probably from the one cut on his cheek. And he probably got that from hitting his face against a sharp edge of something (like a dumpster) while he was getting thrown around. And that picture probably makes it look worse than it is, hence why TMZ is using it.

The whole assault probably only lasted a few seconds and I doubt he was actually getting beaten close to death. Although when a bigger, younger, drunk guy is throwing an older man around, obviously one can get seriously injured very easy.
