She was 21 at the time, trying to finish school, and was honestly highly intelligent. I just don't know what happens to these types. She pretty much just wanted to become a gay man, she wasn't attracted to women at all. So bizarre.
I actually did meet her several times, and she made sure to clarify that she would always be "fem presenting" for me unless I wanted her not to be - there was some kind of weird thing going on where she was using me as a barometer of validation. I had quite a few in depth conversations with this person, and I will confess that it was just out of personal curiosity/to study how someone ends up this way. (It didn't hurt that she was taking something that gave her have an insane sex drive.) She hadn't been on testosterone long enough for there to be any noticeable changes besides maybe losing some natural fat deposits, that and some weird thing going on with her voice.
Anyhow, it does have a happy ending unlike the above freak show, and I like to think I contributed to it. She eventually stopped the nonsense and even ended up having a kid. True story. There are way more young women going through this than some of the older people on here might realize, especially in college towns.
Interesting.
I somehow ended up following a female-to-male trans on X, who goes by "The Pissed Off Lawyer". I have never interacted with this person, either publicly or privately, but have quietly observed some of the craziness.
This individual was born female, was a masculine Vanessa Selbst type lesbian her entire life, and then transitioned to male.
Earlier this year, "he" started a detransitioning process back to a "she".
But that's not the interesting part to me.
The interesting part was one particular post, where she mentioned that, when on testosterone for the FTM transition, she suddenly started having attraction to men. She claimed that she had absolutely zero attraction to dudes her entire life, but suddenly she liked them, and started to have increasing sexual fantasies about fucking men. She said that she felt guilty about it at the time, after being such a vocal member of the lesbian community, and having spent her entire life telling people that her lack of attraction to men wasn't a choice.
She kept it quiet for that reason, not wanting to look like a flake who was just gay for attention.
But here's where it really got weird. Several other female-to-male trans followers popped out of the woodwork and insisted that the same happened to them. They had all started off fully lesbian, and suddenly started liking dudes while on T.
Is it possible that they inadvertently found a "cure" for lesbianism -- that T injections to gay women can turn them straight, or at least bi?
It's possible, and while counterintuitive, there seems to be enough anecdotal evidence to be worth investigating. As I read the thread, some of the FTM trans were saying that this was a "dirty little secret" of the female-to-male trans world, and that it was extremely common.
To my knowledge, this does not work on gay men, nor is there any other injectible or medication known to make gay men attracted to women.
If it turns out this really is a "cure" for lesbianism, I wonder how many women would take it. It would be very controversial, for sure.
