    BEN & JERRY'S ice cream

    After the stolen 2020 election and the Biden Admin industrial complex took over and silenced the non liberals for 4 years, the tide is slowly turning bit by bit. Funny how he doesnt like being silenced on politics. Also, after 47 years, its time to leave anyways and go enjoy life.

    Ben & Jerry's co-founder Jerry Greenfield has resigned from the company after 47 years, citing a dispute with parent company Unilever over the brand's ability to speak out on social and political issues. Greenfield stated that he could no longer in good conscience work for a company that felt "silenced" and sidelined by Unilever for fear of upsetting those in power. The dispute is part of a long-standing clash over the independence of the Vermont-based ice cream company and its right to take public positions on issues like climate change and the war in Gaza.

    Call me crazy, but "Is it good and what does it cost?" is what I think about when I buy food. I don't give two shits about the politics of the company that makes it. If Ben and Jerry were total MAGA retards, I'd still pig out on Phish Food.

    This man knows things. No politics in Ice Cream.

    In the early 1980’s Ben and Jerry held a “Vermont Only” stock offering. They made their hick neighbors rich.

    Ice cream was a commodity more or less at the time and these guys made it so much more with the politicking and publicity. Eccentrics and they had a hell of a run. They had fun.

    If this story offends Americans today (and I gather it does) we are well and truly fucked

    That reminds me of the Sam Adams stock offering back in the day when they were just a local boston beer. They sold 12 pack bottles in a cardboard box and they had a cutout. Send in the flap with your filled out name and a check for some smallish amount (like $25) and you got 10 shares of stock.

    At its hight a few years ago it was worth $12k.

    Here in So Cal, Thrifty ice cream has been around as far as I know, but has also made a come back on the consumer level. I've seen the new red cartons at local grocery store and liquor store.

    Me- I like the new branding and style of the new Thrifty ice cream. Below is a pic I took today at our house as the Black Cherry, Rainbow Sherbet and Cookies Dough are some of my favorites.

    Add- The Thrifty price is friendly on the jew wallet. And the Thrifty Cookie Dough is not as good as the Breyers or Dreyers brands.

    When I was a kid, we'd ride our bikes to Thrifty in the 100 degree heat and get a three scoop cone for a quarter. A single cone was 15 cents, and a double was 20, so you could get three times as much ice cream for 10 cents more. Even ten year olds know a bargain when they see one. Truly the good old days.
