Dude was lying to you.

You need to be more aggressive and repeatedly tell them you'll just play music from YouTube while driving, and you don't need them or any premium service.

Just keep repeating you're going to cancel if they don't get it down to $6/month, and they'll do it.

Even if you don't want to call every 6 months, you will still get better offers online to re-up for cheaper than $17/month.

The funniest one was about 15 years ago. A Philippines rep told me that they couldn't give me the $6/month or "SiriusXM will go out of business". I asked, "They'll go out of business if only I am given this rate?" She said yes. LOL!!! I replied, "Then I don't feel very good about subscribing to this service, if $36 is going to put you out of business." She ultimately backed down and gave me the $6/month.

I'll call him back tomorrow and tell him- Druff says youre full of shit. I did haggle with their front line guy and then haggled more with the supervisor. In the end, I didnt want to do a promotion, track it, remember and then call back in 6+ moths to re-negotiate. I'll call again tomorrow, but not really in the mood for a another 30+ minute phone call haggle marathon.

One of my cars' promos ran out last week and I tried calling to renew the promo.

I got various passive-aggressive foreign reps who kept telling me they could do only $7/month plus refused to backdate it to last week.

Finally I gave up on them and tried the chat. That person pushed back at first and tried to offer me some $8.50/mo plan, but when I refused, they quickly were able to do $6/month (including tax) plus backdated it plus gave me a free month.

So I have it all the way to mid-Sept 2026 for $72 flat.

From now on I'll just be doing it via chat.

SiriusXM is launching a new, year-round channel dedicated to Metallica called "Maximum Metallica". The channel will be available starting August 29th on channel 42 and via the SiriusXM app. It will feature a mix of hits, deep cuts, live shows, rare recordings, exclusive interviews, and behind-the-scenes stories curated by the band.

To celebrate the launch, Metallica will perform a special club concert at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, NY on August 28th. SiriusXM is also giving away tickets to this intimate show. The concert will be recorded and broadcast on Maximum Metallica starting September 1st.

The channel will be available for free to all SiriusXM subscribers and also to those without subscriptions through the app or SiriusXM-equipped vehicles throughout the month of September.
