Interestingly, she got onto the TED lineup due to Liv Boeree getting her a spot. Liv has some connection to the TED Talks and can get people on, apparently.

Cate is about to turn 42. She's been married for about two years, and is the CEO of some Biotech startup which, from what I've seen, hasn't produced anything of value yet.

I do find it funny how many poker druggies look down on the non-drug-users as square and boring, but inevitably they end up saying something similar to what Cate did in her speech, basically that their life was out of control and they never want to go back to that.

I wonder where Chantel is now.

The last I saw of her, she was sitting with a (rich) dude on a bench in the WSOP hallway, and she said hi to me as I walked by. I later learned that was her live-in boyfriend, from San Diego or something.

If you want to feel old, Chantel is now 40.

If you go find the "Ship It Holla Ballas" book, you'll find a passage in their about me, and my NWP post announcing Chantel and neverwin's new (and then-scandalous) relationship. Basically both left their fiancees for each other, and they weren't sure how to go public regarding the matter. They called me on 3-way and asked if I could write up their story, and make them look as good as possible. I agreed, but stated that I wouldn't lie at all. I did promise to soften the entire matter and make it look more sweet than scandalous. The post worked out well, and while Chantel's ex complained about the whole thing on 2+2, for the most part people were more fascinated than angry/judgmental.

And garrett, Brock Wilson is a well known player. Surprised you haven't heard of him. He's one of those math nerd tournament players, and he's done quite well. Apparently he helped Cherish with her game, too, as she's doing better than ever these days.

For the most part, I think positively about both of them, though Brock was involved in a minor WSOP incident a few years ago where someone witnessed him using solvers at the table (before this was officially disallowed).
