Tremendous gimmick he created, working out on Venus Beach. Reality is he was a guitar player in a band in Tampa and showed up to Eddie Graham's wrestling camp in Tampa in his early 20s. He did a training with the Great Muta, who tore his ACL. He then went up to Minnesota to train with Verne Gange. He then was picked up by Vince in the early 80s as a heel. Vince saw something with the Iron Sheik and the hatred for Iran at the time, turned him baby face and that was that.

The last wrestling match I ever went to was Bash at the Beach. The freak out mode was 100% real when this went down, long time fans were literally crying. I mean we all knew it was rigged, but it was still a shock when it happened. RIP old friend.

Side note, Scott Hall dropped dead at age 62 (left) of a heart attack, and Kevin Nash's only kid (son) died of alcoholic shock when he abruptly stopped drinking. Tough business.
