Over the last 10-15 years, the flashlight market really blew up with the custom, flashy and exotic custom type lights and I never really got into them. I've mainly stayed in the utility and boring tactical area of lights. The biggest feature I like is USB recharging as the same with cell phones- I dont want to carry around a charging cradle or extra batteries, I just want to plug in, charge and go. I really like what Streamlight and Pelican are putting out on the market, but seem like Streamlight is beating Pelican on the national level. Fenix is popular too, but I dont see them in the police area much. And if Druff was really into flashlights, he would be a Fenix fan, I can see it, LOL. I'd like to see Druff get into flashlights more, would be interesting.
As for Star Patrol, I really font know that company or model, sorry. The $800 price tag is way out of my reach. Also look at Nebo as they are popular, but not at the Streamlight level. I have that one 500 lumans Nebo that is like a search light, I posted two pics here recently.
Also, my favorite all time light is the Streamlight Por-Tac HPL and Druff actually bought one too and I think he likes it. It will last him forever and he can pass it down to his son.
One note on flashlights- I like to go to Las Vegas a few times a year and stay at various hotels. I assume one time the power will go out in a hotel and I will have to find my way out with a flashlight. Either a power outage and/or earthquake or flooding. with that in mind, more tools the better- light, pocket knife, etc.

Here is a video review of the Pelican 7600. I like this light, but dont own one. You might want to check it out as I think this would be a good fit for you. Your son might even like it as a future duty light. If I didnt have the Streamlight HPL, I would have gotten this light as my main ride.

Respectfully, I dont think you what "critical thinking" is as your post alone proved it. Critical thinking is breaking down a topic and base all items presented on FACTS ONLY and NO emotions. If you look over all of my posts here, I break things down and almost always give proof examples like pictures, links and videos.
A good example of "critical thinking" is the flashlight post above- give specific details, facts and has two videos to support my opinions. Theres no emotions at all or personal attacks.

If yuore looking for a large light with a grip, I like these Browning models because they're USB rechargeable (important) and Browning has been putting out some good Tier 1 products over the years. I dont own any of these, but would recommend them if this is what youre looking for...
The problem with Runner and Mickey is that they are stupid people. We need to get to a point in our society where we begin to cull people like Mickey, runner and split. When someone is truly stupid and ignorant as these three have shown they are they become a danger to our society.

Except this was never said by desertrunner. This is some fantasy purely made up by Jerkafriend. The board was totally dead 2 years ago and myself and others added some content, its not a big deal.
The issue here has always been the same, the resident liberals hurt this board and Druff's reputation in the poker community. Enough so that someone approached him in real life at a WSOP and complained about the N word being used here (by liberals) and then Druff had to block the word in the program.
