Which should I give to Sonatine to commemorate over 4 years of deep abiding friendship

    Good folks!

It just occurred to me that it’s been over four years since shortly after I joined PFA that Sonatine heartfully welcomed me here as a brother. And in the all too frequent times since then when I have made arguably questionable posts, Sonatine frequently took time out of his busy schedule to mentor me towards better posting. And while I often rebelled against his wise and brotherly counsel, I am nevertheless very grateful greatly for it.

Because of that, I thought I might thank him by getting him a gift, a little something, that I am able to acquire out here on the road. But given the number of options I face, and I would like to get one that he would really appreciate. As such, I am asking you now for your collective advice on which of four possibilities that I’ve narrowed it down to.

    They are:

    A) Applejack

Let me know in the poll above which one you think he would like the best. And thank you in advance for your input.

    Mumbles.

    BUMP.

And a video I saw today that reminded me of why I started this thread.

So, before more time passes, I just wanna say “Thank you, Sonatine. Your kindness over the years has really helped me at times when I really needed it.”

Was this the guy who posted McDonalds was systemically shorting french fries in drive through orders, I can't remember? I always get the small fry, they always stuff the small bag well and I believe there are more fries in the small bag than the medium carton. I might be the only guy on the planet that does this, but I always ask for a salt packet and douse them with more salt even though they are technically salted.

No idea. He dwindled down his posting, then vanished entirely. Haven't heard from him in ages.

Okay, so now you have me curious. I looked back and his last login was January 13, 2024 -- about 2 weeks after his last post.

Of course, he could have been lurking since then. I don't feel like checking the logs to see if his IP was lurking for awhile after that, though I guess I can if I don't come up with any answers.

Let me see what else I can figure out in the meantime.

Despite being the only one to have met Mumbles in person, I never knew his real full name. I was able to deduce it tonight, and I looked for any evidence that he had died or had any other kind of tragic event. It appears he hasn't.

However, at the same time, the trail of his online presence seems to have died everywhere, some of which pre-dating before he last logged into PFA.

So my guess is that Mumbles is alive and well, and just isn't that into online stuff anymore. Obviously I am not going to reveal any personal information on him. But I'll say that nothing scandalous was found at all. Seems like a mostly normal guy who drives a truck.
