Your protest does not give you a right to disrupt highways or major streets. That's not peaceful. It's purposely creating huge backups and making it difficult or impossible for innocent people to travel where they need to go (including those with emergencies).
There really should be a policy to tear gas, arrest, and charge anyone who attempts to shut down highways or major streets.
