I'd really love to know exactly what the glasses are correcting on Muncy.

If it's a simple case of nearsightedness, and they didn't catch it until this year, LOL at that.

It's possible that it was just slight nearsightedness, and since Muncy was always known for his batting eye, they assumed he was fine, and dismissed it. Then, when he got off to this horrendous start, they said, "Here, try these glasses" and he took off.

It's also possible that his vision substantially worsened and they didn't realize it. Maybe they don't do regular vision tests of existing players?

I guess there's also a chance it's like Dumbo's feather, and the glasses are a placebo, but I'm guessing he really needed them, and that was the reason for how terribly he was hitting.

Seniors have unique health issues that the Dodgers management was apparently unprepared to deal with.

Similarly, the clubhouse staff should put stickers on glass doors else that goof Pages will run into them when closed. Hell of an athlete but dumb as a rock.

Lmao. Team gerontologist required to assess fall risks and vision and hearing issues. In for $300 million in for a lb.

Prior had Roki throw him a weighted ball 90 times to first test his vision.

Hunter Greene doesn't get enough credit for how good he is, because he is constantly getting injured... and he's on the Reds.

He had a breakout 2024, but now just aggravated the same groin sprain which kept him out for over a month. Now he might be out for substantial time.

Greene pitched 150 innings last year -- a career high -- with a 2.75 ERA and 1.018 WHIP, and a 169/57 K-BB ratio. He might end up being the next Tyler Glasnow.

On the Dodgers injury front... and believe it or not, I'm not about to discuss a pitcher...

Esteury Ruiz is now part of the team's taxi squad, which has raised eyebrows because Tommy Edman has missed a few games with a bad ankle. That makes it seem as if they're a hair away from putting Edman on the DL, and replacing him with Ruiz. In case you don't know Ruiz, he's one of those blazing fast guys (stole 67 in just 132 games in 2023), who can't do much else.

Edman is only batting .242, but it seems a lot higher than that because he's extremely clutch. He also has 9 HR, which was unexpected. One curious thing about 2025 Edman is that he only has 3 SB. This is a guy who stole 30, 32, and 27 in 2021-23, so perhaps he's been having ankle issues all along, and just been playing through it. He's a bit too young (30) to otherwise lose his ability to swipe bases.

Oh... I guess I do have pitching news. Dodgers are taking on another reclamation project in Jose Urena. He was acquired after he was released by Toronto. He even pitched yesterday for the Dodgers, but only for 2/3 of an inning, allowing a hit and no runs. At least this one is cheap and didn't require trading anyone away, so it's very low risk.

Brandon Pfaadt in last 2 starts:

    3.2 IP, 14 R, 13 ER

    Prior 3 games: 15 2/3 IP, 10 ER

And 2 games before that, he coughed up 7 R, 6 ER to the Phillies.

Laughably the only good start he had was against the team he somehow owns -- the Dodgers. And I was at that game. Sad! But even there he struck out 0, and just got lucky with balls going to fielders.

    Something must be wrong.

I have Soto or Alonso to homer boosted to +215. Let’s keep my multiple choice homer streak alive.

Corbin Burnes going down for TJ surgery.

Sad how common that is these days. I assume this has changed to occur more often because of the increased physical demands on pitchers today, compared to before.

    Hey Druff

Craig Kimbrel has been designated for assignment by Philly. 17 years and he never had Tommy John.

As you remind us, Friedman is austerity minded and he sure needs a closer. Bring man bun back to LA? Offer him something less than Tanner Scott

Atlanta signed him and dropped him right away, after welcoming him "home"

Using my Roman Anthony ROY ticket as a drink coaster. C’mon Sawks

Top Red Sox prospect Roman Anthony hits 497-foot grand slam, longer than any HR in MLB this season

I enjoyed the pitcher putting his head down as soon as it left the bat. Never has it been more obvious what was happening.

Tom Glavine said that the Braves have "hit rock bottom" in a recent interview.

    They've dropped 6 straight, and are 27-36.

What were the chances that the Cardinals would be 8 1/2 ahead of the Braves on June 7, and the Giants would be 9 ahead of the Braves?

The Dodgers' 38-27 record is disappointing so far, despite their clinging to 1st by a game. On the bright side, no Dodgers team has ever won the World Series after winning 100 games.

Kershaw will attempt to stop the Cards from sweeping the Dodgers in the finale.

In the context of the long season - it’s a huge and hopefully fun week or so coming up for the NL West.

Careful as teams will likely conserve resources for Monday on.
