BUMP

Some gay Youtuber named Jose did a very good and thorough analysis of the Daily Wire and its entire history, including its recent struggles.

Jose has apparently been following and covering Daily Wire on his channel for a long time, so this is the culmination of all of his "work". He's very left wing, however, and unfortunately that bleeds into his otherwise sharp coverage of the matter.

It's worth watching, provided you disregard his occasional editorializing, especially about trans issues.

As I said above, this is a mostly well-researched and clearly presented documentary on the history and recent failures of the Daily Wire. The editorializing did somewhat ruin what seemed to otherwise be a fact-based video, especially the rants about “the genocide in Gaza” and “[Matt Walsh's documentaries] were just anti-trans misinformation”.

Why ruin a good factual piece by stating political opinion as if it’s also fact?

He did get a few points incorrect:

- He claimed the Daily Wire film "Lady Ballers" was a success. It was brutally panned by a large percentage of even The Daily Wire’s biggest fans. The animated series "Mr. Birchum" was hated even more. This proves that DW’s conservative audience simply wanted well-made programming, and not just drivel which appealed to their politics. Jose made it sound like all conservatives loved Lady Ballers, and they loved it because it bashed trans people.

- Matt Walsh’s two documentaries were a huge success, which Jose stated. However, his reasons wre incorrect. These docs were funny, well made, and mostly featured extreme leftists making a fool of themselves. It was similar to the Borat films, except this time it featured right wingers tricking left wingers into exposing their own craziness, while Borat did the reverse. Jose instead branded all conservatives as simpletons who cannot discern good programming from bad.

- Jose attributed DW getting past the Crowder fiasco because Crowder imploded due to his ex-wife's video being released. DW indeed got past the Crowder fiasco mostly unscathed, but not because of Crowder’s divorce/video which occurred months later. It was because Crowder did not present his case well to the public, and came off both insincere and entitled. It also helped that DW had many major personalities, all of whom spoke against him, including Owens. Only later did most people realize that both sides had fault in that dispute.
