my dad was really into those at one time. I think at one point he had every infantry rifle of any country that participated in ww2. He had an ffl at one point, and then just had an antique and relics license, and he just got one of everything.

You can still get a government subsidized m1 Garand through the civilian marksmanship program tho

yeah i went down the mosin rabbit hole and hoo nelly did things get complicated. but even for a tourist priced one in the $1200-2000 range, compare that to a modern shooting system and youre probably still paying < 10% of the cost of admission.

I was actually going to make a post with a parts list of my newest build. It’s as good as about anything out there, and I think it fell in the $1250-$1500 range, only because I assembled it over months and purchased almost everything when it was on sale. I’ll try to knock that out later tonight.

i stand corrected, the only area that interests me with shooting is long distance accuracy stuff. like 1k yards or more. outside of that incredibly narrow spectrum i just dont have a lot of personal interest.

You can easily run into the mid five figures for precision shooting platforms, and then a lot of times the scope can be even more expensive. The scope on my new build was only $250, which is at the very low end of anything decent.

I’d invest more money into something better if I had access to land where I could shoot at distance. For now it’s really just setup for mid-range.

So I bought a super safety, forced reset trigger

    https://twitter.com/williemcfml/status/1919184132577370359

You can buy one for $160. I HIGHLY recommend.

one thing I forgot to mention, I took three trips to the range before I got this trigger working

if you order a super safety, make sure you have an H2 buffer or it might not work

seriously, if you have an AR get one of these before some kid shoots up a school with one and they make them illegal again

people pay upwards of $40,000 for a legal machine gun, you can turn your AR into one for $160

no it is completely different from a binary.

it’s a forced reset trigger, which basically forces the trigger forward, so as you pull on the trigger you are actually making it fire very quickly, functioning like full auto. in the video I posted you can actually see how my finger actuates the trigger twice.

the video below explains it further and also has super slow-mo showing what happens

shot high powered Assault Rifles in the ARMY (infantry) never cared to own rifles or guns as a Civilian (not sure could after being Charged for Misdemeanors now..)

probably is true, the more guns there are the more people die

totally respect your personal choice, Garrett

but bad guys have lot of guns and always will. the world is a crazy, dangerous place (and getting more so) iÂ’m not going to be caught without one if one of them tries to harm myself or my family

td;lr: you wonÂ’t catch me lackinÂ’, i keep that thang on me

also, on a personal note, i think guns are just cool as shit and a lot of fun to shoot, practice, get better, etc.

my dad has two types of cancer, and probably wont be around in 5 years. heÂ’s always loved to shoot (also in the army) so I enjoy going to the range with him once a week. the look on his face when we finally got that damn trigger working was worth every penny of that $160

it’s very real, called a lifecard. never fired one though, and have no interest in buying one

if your life was really in danger, would you want to rely on that thing firing? know I wouldn’t

from what I could find it looks like the lifecard is almost $300

22 wmr is a magnum round if i’m not mistaken

i used to throw this is my glovebox. it’s nothing fancy but mine always went boom $220

there are plenty of low budget options better than the lifecard imo

I wound only get anything g in 22lr, my fav caliber. It’s so common and the WMR is not.

Add- Druff needs to get a Glock 19, totally serious.

I think the 22 WMR is a longer round over the 22lr.
