Are you reading the sources you’re going by? There is nothing in the links you provided (or anywhere else on the internet) that indicate Gibson has ever resided in the state of Nevada.
He directed a film in Nevada and stated he wanted to direct more films in the future in Nevada. Maybe that’s what’s confusing you.
