Yankees are really looking sad now.

The protection around Judge are Bellinger and Goldschmidt (at least til Stanton comes back), which is great if it's 2017, but not so much right now.

Rotation is Max Fried followed by 4 guys with a projected 4.00+ ERA.

Bullpen, aside from Devin Williams, looks mediocre.

    Fans are already getting restless.

Roman Anthony ROY sprinkle and enjoy the summer. Real name is Anthony Anthony. “Boy name Sue” kinda shit.

Maybe the greatest Red Sox rookie prospect ever - statistical arguments that he exceeds Betts and innumerable others in history.

I’m prolly gonna check him out in Worcester on a nice spring day.

Let’s touch base in a while

While you have the app open hit Kristian Campbell ROY too. Hats off to Sox scouting.

Finally some baseball fun and I’m NOT a homer. This is legit goodness. Deserved

Devers is being difficult. He’s so eccentric he can be forgiven. That too is fun.

I live 2 miles from Polar Park and did watch those kids a couple times last year. They signed some decent pitching this year and that is also what has me excited about baseball in Boston for the 1st time in 7-8 years. They have another kid, Marcelo Meyer, who should be in the mix too.

I don't know the Sox can exactly be forgiven for trading Betts for nothing but this is definitely a start. Bregman having a huge spring as he should for $40m a year. We don't know if they'll be contenders yet but this is going to be an excellent baseball season in Boston and Worcester.

You said in a recent post you couldn't get excited for baseball, or something to that effect, so I'm glad to see you've noticed that we finally have something to cheer for around these parts. The Celtics are likely to win again this year, the Patriots are getting better and now the Red Sox are poised for a great season. This could be the year!

Sometimes when I am up all night, I think, "It's too bad there's no US sports to watch right now."

I'll finally get my wish when the Dodgers play their first game at 3:10am PDT on March 18.

Royce Lewis pulls up lame running to first, strained hammy. Twins maybe best pitching "prospect" shut down for a third consecutive season for another shoulder surgery. I used quotations cause Canterino is already 27 and hasnt debuted in the show yet.

Must be just about baseball season!

Tokyo flu - Japan is experiencing a flu outbreak not seen in decades........ just in time for the Dodgers to be visiting.

Manager Dave Roberts said Monday that Betts is starting to feel better but has lost nearly 15 pounds and is still trying to get rehydrated and gain strength. Roberts added that the eight-time All-Star might fly back to the United States before the team in an effort to rest and prepare for the domestic opener on March 27.

Betts picked up the flu in Arizona, but the symptoms got worse in Japan.

Gotta be pretty harsh if a 32-year-old athlete like Betts dropped 15 pounds.

Three true outcome player Joey Gallo got released by the White Sox, and now wants to pitch. Good luck with that.

Gallo is a career .194 hitter, and hasn't hit above .177 since 2021.

He has 1292 K in 2896 AB, though also has 208 HR and 497 BB. Interestingly, here's the breakdown of the way he's gotten on base, excluding errors and fielders choices:

    208 HR
    349 hits which weren't HR
    497 BB

So he's substantially more likely to walk than get a non-HR hit. And he's striking out like 35% of the time.

Gotta take Tommy Edmunds here now w/o Betts. How? Most Series RBI @ 20:1. Maybe he hits outta 2 hole again. He loves them lefties too.

The AL East is such ass. You won’t have Vlad for long. Orioles pitching is simply awful. Yankees is just public money giving Boston some kinda value at +350 to win division. I hate futures and +350 offers no excitement but I have to take Boston to express my disdain for the division.

Pray for Roki. Dodgers are certain to ruin the kid with their time proven formula. He will never finish the year. Roki +225 ROY is fraud perpetrated on innocent consumers. Why can’t there be 2-way bets in this market?

Dodgers charging $180 for Opening Day for the literal worst seat in the house.

Gotta pay those salaries, I guess.

Got the unpleasant surprise of not having the Dodgers channel, when it was almost time for the game.

Cable company guy fucked me over a few days ago, when I called about perhaps getting a better monthly rate for the same (or very similar) services and he kept trying to upsell me instead.

When I refused the upsell, he got increasingly irritated, and by the end of the call, he said the best he could do was my rate staying the same through March 2026 (it was set to go up more in May 2025), and my service would stay the same.

I said ok and accepted it. He passive aggressively removed the plan with the Dodgers channel because I stated several times that the Dodgers channel was important to me to keep. I guess that's what I get for showing my hand.

Anyway, fortunately they have 24/7 customer service so I was able to get the channel back, and only miss the top of the 1st. I have to call back later to get the bill adjusted, because that department is only around during the day, and tonight's fix added $10 to my monthly bill.

All the hate cable companies get is deserved.

    Thin Dodgers lineup tonight.

Not only is Betts out, but ironman Freddie Freeman now hurt his ribs on practice swings (lol), plus his bad ankle from October is still hurting a bit.

    Uh oh.

So far a 0-0 game in the 2nd, but Dodgers have 2 runners on thanks to walks, with nobody out.

    Yamamoto vs Imanaga

Yeah this lineup doesn’t look very daunting. And their playing for the 3 run homer may work out, but it would help to occasionally start the runners or manufacture runs.

This is on regular Fox here. Do they black that out there?

Also hate the ballpark. This Tokyo dome doesn’t feel like a ballpark. The field turf looks shitty. Cheapest seat I read anywhere was $1700 USD.

I am about ready to head to the gym. I fired a small Dodgers -1.5 since they were road team and figured Shohei would do something heroic. Didn’t do my homework on how weak the lineup was. Lunch money bet, but was excited to have baseball back and this one already has me uninspired.

Dodgers fell behind 1-0 and couldn't get a hit off Imanaga, even though he gave up 4 walks.

But they busted out against a reliever in the 5th, and Yamamoto, who was struggling a bit early, really came on in the 3rd thru 5th, and looked great after some time. Decent chance Dodgers get the W here to start off the year.

Ohtani got a hit after starting off 0-for-2.

    Okay Roki

You have a player making his MLB rookie debut. Making his Dodgers debut in a circus atmosphere that can only be compared to the week prior to the Super Bowl. Your coach is Mark Prior. Kid’s gonna be fucked and will get the hook

Under 12.5 outs. (I think this ship has sailed)

    Ladder over 2 walks -145 & 3 walks +210

    BTTS F3 1+ +165

Cubs F5 +120 (I was slow adding this)

I have Tucker OR Ohtani 1+RBI +100 in a DK promo.

The Tommy Edmund most RBI’s is still live at 20:1

    I prolly have more lol

The Dodger olds finding it hard to get outta their chairs

I was a retard and forgot to check if it was also on national TV.

Your homework on the lineup yesterday wouldn't have mattered, because Freeman was a last minute scratch. Worked out for you though.

I don't want to do it yet because the lineup will be missing Mookie and maybe Freddie, but once the team is healthy, Dodgers -1.5 and -2.5 might be the way to go for awhile.

This is a legit scary lineup, and the top 4 pitchers (Yamamoto, Sasaki, Snell, Glasnow) plus the killer bullpen should lead to a lot of big wins.

I don't recommend a win totals bet because you never know with injuries, load management, etc, plus they've got two capable divisional opponents in Padres and D-backs, plus the Giants probably won't be horrible. However, on select games I think a Dodgers run line could be +EV if the books don't adjust enough, especially on the road where -1.5 isn't hobbled by being nearly impossible to win if not up by 2+ after 8.

Keep an eye on it. I predict a lot of blowout and semi-blowout wins.

I’m two games ahead of you.

I bet it and then came here later and saw San’s post and truly thought about cancelling it. But it was moderate sized bet and the cash out pregame would have cost me a $68 haircut and I saw Steele was off in spring training. Off to begin the year last year. Just said yolo it’s Shohei in Tokyo.

The minute I woke up and turned the game on is when Roki walked 3 in a row and a run in and I thought I should have slept in.
