It's just like the Shohei thing- MLB says "nothing to see here!"

If they're firing him, despite their protests, there is some shady dealing.

I would love to see a list of affected games, and if any odd calls made a difference.

Having an umpire can be huge, especially a home plate umpire. Imagine a close game with bases loaded and 2 outs, where an incorrect strike call ends the inning. That could mean the difference of several runs.

How fucking stupid did he have to be? DFS and Sportsbooks know these guys cant bet on baseball (the sport they are judging) so to loan his account to somebody who as an individual could was just stupid. Those bets would be automatically flagged and the site would be required to report any such bets made just like the NBA dummy who bet on Basketball up in Toronto. These books have been provided a list of whos who in each sport as a player, ref, owner, etc so their accounts can be monitored for violations just like this. Same as the GEO locating which got some NFL players in trouble for placing bets while located on their teams practice facility. Its still a no-no to place any bets on other sports while at practice or the stadium/arena for a game.
