In the 2024 Main Event, Dominik Nitsche had a laptop with a solver on it, and was helping the eventual winner Jonathan Tamayo. While Tamayo was not assisted during hands, he was able to consult the solver in between hands to find out if he made the right play, and perhaps to get advice regarding future moves, especially preflop.
This caused a lot of controversy, and for whatever reason, was not stopped by the floor as it occurred (even though it could have).
Now the rule is clearer about it.
