If anyone in the area has a vehicle there comfortable going 4 miles off road, this area is epic - Telephone Cover right off the Laughlin Casino Strip near the dam, very nice and free.

Nice - I am pondering a place here, or near here, along the river. Its gorgeous and I can be sitting down in MGM grand LV etc within 75 mins. I will either just do it and not stay there/here the summers (too hot) or ill wait till summer to decide what im gonna do - but i think property in the Laughlin Nevada side is calling me name - why you going to the AZ side? Just curious, it is much more built up - you get about 90k people in that area compared to like 8800 in Laughlin.

    Enjoy

The Arizona side just works for me now the at I will be doing business there. Several factors- cheaper cost of living, no 1 hour time difference and AZ is a constitutional carry state for firearms on top of already having myAZ CCW. i also want to put my money and retirement funds into the local AZ economy vs Clark County across the River that is doing just fine.

Add- I also want to get a Kawasaki KRX and they can be street legal in AZ. The Druff and I can go desert running.

Those things look fun, but how often do they flip?

Now that I'm old, I think of stuff like that.

I think about the risks I used to take when skiing, and I'm pretty shocked I didn't get more injured than a broken arm and two fractured shoulders. Nowadays I'm the old guy who is keeping out of everyone else's way.

As far as I know, they dont flip at all. No reports or nothing I have heard or seen.

    From Google-
A Kawasaki KRX, specifically the Teryx KRX 1000, is designed with a robust frame and Rollover Protective Structure (ROPS) to prevent it from easily flipping over, making it relatively resistant to rollovers when ridden responsibly on appropriate terrain; however, like any off-road vehicle, it can still flip if put in extreme situations or handled poorly.
I would not buy a Polaris RZR, but this 2012 video is some of the best desert running I've seen. This is why I am moving to Arizona and then maybe Nevada once fully retired...

Looks like fun in the video.

This has appeal to me, but seeing the thing bounce like that over the rocks and holes, I can only imagine how my back would feel after the whole ride!

A smart driver stays on the dirt trails and roads and avoids those rocks and holes.

They are also street legal in Arizona with the proper mods-

There are open trails in Laughlin as well. And up in Tonopah, Nevada, they take them out on the streets.

    Goldfield, Nevada...

Yes, tell me the title you want and I'll change it.

Anyway, I saw the Riverside Casino in the pic.

Stayed there for 1 night earlier this year. Ran a bit of video poker there, now I get fail offers to stay there free weeknights (with a lol $18 resort fee) an a few buffets.

    Whatev.

Maybe I'll take 'em up on it one of these days for a change in scenery, perhaps in the spring.

One nice thing about living in Arizona, you can still drive to Las Vegas and have the whole hotel and Vegas experience. I dont want to give that up.

Driving those knobby tires on hot pavement is an expensive luxury especially if you need to pay someone to mount the new rubber for you.

Get a trailer like everyone else.

Also, the CCW. In your mind you playing Slingblade on Landman?

The locals swap out their tire sets themselves, not a big deal. Just have a street set and dirt set. People still trailer on trips and extensive outings. Seriously not a big deal.

As for CCW, get some training and an education on he topic and it will make more sense to you. Liberals don’t understand the concept of CCW, but it is a lifestyle and good to have.

Maintenance runs that thing around the property and plowing in the winter. Thing is bulletproof.

I ran Honda CR dirt bikes off road out where Country978 lives until the conservation police and the developers killed the fun. Too old now for the stupidity anyway

Paid the bakery at the supermarket to make the trees for me. Lol. I’m so sick

Have no idea what my cost basis for this gingerbread property is now

I’m also missing my young liberals party meetings - so there is that too

    Ah, Goldfield....

It's a ghost town almost 200 miles north of Vegas, towards Reno.

In the late 2000s, I talked to a girl in a chat room who claimed to be from Goldfield, and said she worked at a McDonald's there. I was pretty sure it had no population, and couldn't picture a McDonald's, though maybe there could be one off the freeway.

She eventually told me she was joking about the whole thing, and was actually from Vegas. She was a cute blond girl in her mid-20s, and we had loosely discussed meeting up, but it just never ended up happening. One day, a dude who had been friends with her for a long time confided in me that she was afraid to meet me because of various health issues. He said that the health issues made her, among other things, extremely fatigued and it was hard for her to go out normally. I asked her about it, and she told me about it in more detail. She said she really liked me but was just so afraid of meeting and having me see her like this. I told her that I would never judge her for such a thing, and I'd be happy to meet up with her when she was ready. She seemed very relieved, and said we could meet up very soon.

Then... nothing. Not too long after that, I was completely ghosted. I figured she was too embarrassed once I knew the truth about her conditions, and just wanted away from me, and back into the online fantasy world of being like everyone else.

About a year later I looked at her Myspace out of curiosity, and it hadn't been updated since around the time she stopped talking to me. I did a little research and saw that she died within weeks of our last conversation. Sad.

Still haven't made it out to Goldfield.
