Agreed. The way education is currently structured is fundamentally flawed. This situation might encourage states to explore alternative approaches. We've all simply accepted the traditional model of students sitting in a classroom, being lectured to, and expected to learn more or less at the same pace. However, for this method to work, all students would need to progress at roughly the same rate, which isn't how it works. Instead, curriculums should be individualized, allowing students to advance at a pace that matches their capabilities. They simply do not move forward with what they are working on until they master that specific subject and pass the exams associated with them. Yes, this would mean some kids might take 2 more years to graduate, but it would also allow 15 year old with high IQs to blast through high school curriculum not waiting for their peers.
