    IN-N-OUT BURGER, master thread.

This new location will get destroyed by the moronic locals just like the Oakland, CA property.

After 2 years of back and forth, plans for a Washington county In-N-Out Burger location have been approved by city officials. The California-based chain will be located on S.W. Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway, according to @theoregonian. No immediate opening date has been announced.

The traffic in Beaverton is already a fucking nightmare, at all hours of the day, weekday or weekend. This is going to make it 1000 times worse once it opens.

I lived in Beaverton for a few years before moving to Keizer, where I live now. It's only about 45 minutes away and I drive to Beaverton at least two or three times a week. We recently had an In n Out open in Keizer, causing a complete and total clusterfuck. It'll be even worse in Beaverton. I'm 39, though not sure what that has anything to do with it.

It's city council fodder. Who's ever heard of Beaverton OR? Is it a one street town with nothing but fast food chains? Are Beavertonians going to claim an In n Out day?

I've been to one In n Out and I discovered they sell overpriced hamburgers.

I lied, it was Five Guys and it was good but still a burger

Maybe it's the drive thru attraction that has everyone so excited?
Maybe people have heard of how your next president's first job was at an In n Out. BTW it's the worst and most honest name of any fast food chain

Beaverton is a weird little town. Its right next to Portland (in fact a lot of the addresses of people and business who reside in Beaverton actually say Portland), but with a lot less crime. The cops in Bearton and Hillsboro are notoriously strict assholes, and there are a lot of upscale neighborhoods around town. It's not at all like Portland, which is a dirty and smelly crime-riddled hellhole, although it is getting slowly better even there.

Great. I bet they like tax revenue too. I know criminals are dumb but being put away for jacking (no pun intended) a burger joint is poor decision making

One potential issue with In-N-Out expanding is a potential decline in quality.

In-N-Out does NOT franchise any units. They own all of them 100%, and they exercise extremely tight control. You cannot call individual stores. The central office wants to monitor all complaints. They are quick to fire managers who don't maintain company standards, and in turn, managers are quick to fire employees who routinely fuck up. (Sadly, in the 2020s, this is less true because of the general worker shortage in lower-end jobs.)

Anyway, as locations get physically more distant from the southern CA corporate office, it becomes harder and harder for the corporation to monitor. That can lead to a decline in quality.

I guess we will see. This is the reason there are no locations east of Texas.

To be fair, there are locations in Idaho, Colorado, and Texas, and none of those are close to southern CA. So I guess Oregon isn't much different.

I've eaten at the one in Keizer, OR at least a dozen times since they opened back in December 2020. So far, it has been consistently good. The managers there seem to be on top of things and you can tell the employees are working their butts off to try and make every single customer happy. Although their fries are a hit or miss for me, but that's been true in other In n Out locations in California, so it's probably just a general complaint I have about In n Out. IMO their burgers are top notch.

    Accurate.

Fries are definitely hit or miss. If they're fresh and not overcooked, they're great. Otherwise they range from mediocre to awful.

    Burgers are always excellent.

Nashville is next. That's a long way from Texas.

Overall, I like INO for burgers and a good deal. In the "fired burger category, they get an A. I also think Fatburger is one small step above them.

In the flame broiled category, The Habit is king.

is flame broiling a cooking method that involves direct exposure to a flame, and often used for grilling burgers?

I've only had the in and out in Vegas and I liked it. Good burger. Not very good fries. Workers were working their asses off.

As a bed wetting liberal, I'm vegetarian now, but it was a good burger back in the day.

It is easier to find the hostages in Gaza than it is to find a black employee at In N Out. One of the many reasons why I love eating there.

Ignoring your gratuitous racism, you're actually correct about the racial makeup of In-n-Out employees. I've seen a few black people working there over time, but yeah it's overwhelmingly white, and some Hispanics. I also rarely encounter any employees there who are obviously gay.

Say what you will about Chik-Fil-A, but despite an even more religious ownership than In-n-Out, I find the staff there is extremely diverse. Not only do a lot of black and brown people work there, but I've also noticed a number of obviously gay male employees as well. That's why I laugh at idiots who say that Chik-Fil-A hates the gays. Not only do they seem to hire a lot of gay people, but there's never once been an allegation of mistreatment of gay employees there.

Both of these chains, despite having a pre-COVID high quality standard, suffered greatly during the 2021-22 worker shortage period. Both became awful regarding mistakes during those years. I probably had more mistakes at In-n-Out in 2021-2022 than all other years of my life combined.

I havent seen any blacks working at INO Burger either, I'll start looking more often.
I have seen alot of black people working at Popeye's Chicken. Now that is some good chicken.

    Got this off of Facebook...

A 2nd In-N-Out Burger is coming to the Strip, finally. It will be located in the new BLVD mixed-use development that's replacing the Hawaiian Marketplace.
