    Ohtani is 51/51 now

He hit 3HR in three consecutive at bats.
6 for 6 with 10RBI, 3HR, 2 doubles, and 2 SB has to be one of the best single games of all time. That’s insane. And 50/50 to boot.
That’s the greatest offensive performance I ever watched live. Sheer stat line performance I mean.

He was 51 of 55 stolen base attempts this year. Just nuts

Acuna 40/70 season last year vs Ohtani?

He’s pitching. It’s coming for so many reasons. I’m here for it

    Make that 52-52.

He has a shot at 60-60, as insane as that sounds.

8 games left, and he needs 8 HR/8 SB to get there. Not likely, but not impossible.

I don't want Shohei to pitch. At all.

He was an offensive monster this year. He's been everything the Dodgers hoped for, and he hasn't yet thrown a pitch for them.

Recall that he missed 48 games in 2018, 56 games in 2019, and 27 games last year. These were mostly from pitching injuries.

How many has he missed in 2024? 2.

Dodgers need to leave well enough alone and let him just DH. I know they're going to pitch him, but mark my words, this isn't a good idea.

My siblings and I are taking my mom to the game Thursday night for her 81st birthday. Got a box right behind the Dodger dug out. Looking forward to seeing him live for the first time. Probably going to be a meaningful game against the Padres. Go Dodgers!

That’s fantastic. How long ago did you buy these tickets?

Mama Jay and Mama Druff chatting about the paradise that was old school California before it went to shit would be a fantastic listen.

I heard this question asked on LA sports talk. “If you could finally end the World Series drought with Ohtani on the mound but he would likely never pitch again would you do it?”

That little ear worm has stuck with me for a week.

Meld into your answer that like the 2004 Red Sox (Dave Roberts steals second base and the resulting first championship in 86 years) Ohtani would likely cement his legend as the best MLB player of all time.

I’ve already copyrighted Shohei pulling a Jim Brown upon winning the woeful dodgers a ring. The script is in development

This might dwarf Cubs or Red Sox - which is another bar room argument I suppose

Regardless, you best prepare yourself cause he is picking up the Rosen bag in October.

Druff should invite CJ Abrams to the forum.

So Skenes starts tomorrow vs Reds, then projected to start 1 more @NYY, which should be a must-watch.

I wish we could know exactly which BBWAA voters are voting this one. Assuming Skenes has average (for him) starts here, he should win over the younger analytic voters. Old-timers will probably lean Merrill.

So if you're not paying attention, the Braves are likely missing the playoffs.

They are 2 games behind the Mets for the final spot, and 3 behind the Dbacks.

Yes, they lost Acuna and Strider, but this is still a huge fail for them.

The Phillies, Brewers, and Dodgers are clinched in the postseason. 3 of these 4 -- the Mets, Braves, Padres, and Dbacks will make it. Everyone else is eliminated in the NL.

AL strangely only has one wildcard team with over 82 wins, even though the Braves have 84. Yankees and Injuns are guaranteed a spot, and the Orioles are very likely the #1 wildcard. Astros very likely win the division. Of the remaining wildcard teams, you have the Royals, Twins, Tigers, and Mariners. Rays and Sawks are technically alive but not going to make it.

Probably going to be Baltimore, KC, and either Minnesota or Detroit for the wildcard there.

Dodgers only 3 ahead of the Padres and will be playing them this upcoming week, so... there's a chance the Dodgers could choke away the division.

    9 strikeouts on 73 pitches

His change up was literally pure whiff.

Yummymoto looks dreadful. Mark Prior coming out to mound so lol. Prior should learn Japanese. It will be helpful when looking for work in Japan. I’ve been hard on Prior and rightly so but as the season has progressed and having read others who have caught up to me I really am cutting the pie more 50% 50% with Fraudman.

    What a fail outfit.

As much as I want to watch him pitch to Soto-Judge, Pirates should just sit him now, end it with the shiny 1.99 ERA.

He is pursuing the ROY. This kid is unafraid of anybody. Neither are the Pirates. I’m here for it.

The crime is he isn’t gonna face the best in a playoff series.

As a Merrill ROY ticket owner Im feeling defeated today.

I think its 56/45 Paul but cant discount what this week could mean.

This week LAD vs Padres and Merrill will determine the outcome. If LAD roll out Bobby Thriller Tuesday Merrill could feast
