Again and again, the issue comes down to fire prevention. The key is for local gov to simply improve and widen existing fire roads. Also local residents needs to remove existing brush and vegetation loading around their homes and comply with CA state law of 150 feet clearance.
Its so frustrating to see residential homes burning down when the residents were lazy and didnt prep ahead of time.

Did the view from your house open up without all those dreadful trees?
We got one on the side of Slide Mountain south of Reno right now. Drove by, but didn’t take pics.
That’s my back door. Now all those trees are my fire wood. The forest service cut them up. My buddy and I rolled some down the hill and split them. Got firewood for like 10 years back there.
