I have it on good authority that tyde was rejected from any assisted living applications. That being said he shouldn’t be judged for it even if he was there. He’s worked hard all his life and deserves a chance to enjoy his final years

I don't agree with cleatus' politics, but I need to remind everyone about the scooter story, as it's often told in misleading or incorrect fashion.

cleatus did not ask us to raise money for his scooter. He made a post indicating frustration that his existing scooter broke. Given that he was well liked within the community, the idea was hatched to raise money for one. I was one of the people who donated. cleatus bought a new scooter with the money.

About a year later, cleatus tracked me down at the WSOP and handed me the money I donated. I was surprised because this wasn't presented as a loan. It was a donation -- from me and everyone else. He told me that he appreciated what we did for him, and really wanted to pay everyone back. I kept refusing the money, but he kept insisting I take it, so I did. It was clearly important to him to pay everyone back, even though this had all been given as a donation to him.

He then asked about a few donors he couldn't track down, but I said I didn't know how to reach them either.

Anyway, I was very impressed by this. It's not like he just hit the lottery. He was just in a better spot than he had been when we donated the money, but clearly not rolling in dough. I saw this as an indication of a moral person who definitely appreciated something nice that had been done for him at a time he was struggling.

I also like to separate the politics from the man (not just cleatus -- everyone). There are people I really like who are Democrats (Master Scalir is a good example), and fellow Republicans I strongly dislike. I am more likely to get along with Republicans than Democrats because we have more in common with our worldview, but it's far from absolute.

Yeah but you left out the fact Cleatus was tracking down Tyde on an innocent citation for a bounty for like a year. On the scooter you help fund. You leave that point out.

Has there ever been a worse strategy than to go after Trump on a sexual liaison from 2006? Oh, Trump has pulled ahead of Biden in Maine. Remember, any pollster will tell you in a general election poll the Dem Presidential candidate needs to be ahead by at least 3 to 4 points to win the Electoral College on average given CA and NY density. This logic won't stand. In Martin vs the city of Boise (2019) it was argued that a man asking for money at a homeless encampment was not actually breaking the "no begging" laws. It was in fact upheld by the ninth circuit that in such a case asking for money was tantamount to begging and really just a matter of semantics.
