I could totally see that story being what happened.

Looks like a guy who is used to intimidating people with his size, plus has anger issues, and this combined to become deadly in this case. I could easily see it all unfolding this way. He tells some dude with the cocaine to keep it away from his stepdaughter, and the guy either doesn't give a shit, doesn't see, or is too high himself to care. Then Rodimer sees that his stepdaughter indeed had the cocaine, freaks out, chases the guy around the room, and rage beats him, before realizing he might have done some real damage and runs off.

This probably ends up as a voluntary manslaughter charge. Maybe he will use the defense that he was protecting his family.
Yeah, it’s probably the bare bones of the story. It’s a little weird though. His wife was clearly there though from the texts, and the guy he killed is his age. Really brazen to give cocaine to a presumably fairly young stepdaughter with a 6’7 300lb dad who warned you not to.

If it was some young partygoer, would make more sense.

His wife just had their sixth kid in like 2019, so says she’s 40ish, stepdaughter would have to be early 20s at most.

Almost made me wonder if that was his excuse to others for attacking the guy, but it was really a dude hitting on his wife of something. Article made it out like it was a party attended by him and stepdaughter, but then you have the texts from wife. His marriage seems to be cause of his previous arrests. Saying someone gave your kid drugs and that’s why you beat him might be accurate, but also might be an excuse for why you beat some guy who got involved in a drug fueled domestic dispute.
