Typically the SOTU address is a boring affair where Presidents read a speech written by aides, spouting a list of "accomplishments" which are often exaggerated or outright false.
But this one is much more than the President trying to crow about what he's done.
This SOTU's main purpose is to convince the people of America that the President isn't senile.
Here is an appearance of his earlier in the week:
Definitely not all there anymore. And he said the quite part out loud -- that he will "get in trouble" if he answers questions! Because he's not in charge anymore, and that's obvious.
Will he come off better than the above at tonight's address? Of course. They're going to inject him with whatever drugs are necessary to be more alert, and he only needs to read a speech, rather than answer questions.
But we'll see. He might be so far gone that even giving a speech could be a challenge.
I love the recent Democratic line of, "Biden and Trump are both old, so that's basically a wash."
Bullshit. Trump has occasional brief lapses, which appear more to be a function of doing a lot of pills than senility setting in. In general, Trump seems fairly sharp for his age, while Biden just looks lost with nothing behind the eyes.
Also, anyone who has had a relative decline into senility has seen that there are good days and bad days. A senile person can appear lucid and reasonable one minute, and completely lost the next. Sometimes the lucidity can last hours or a few days, but the fog eventually returns. Then it gets worse and worse to where the person is increasingly more gone than present. We are seeing this happen to Biden before our eyes.
How can you watch this video and believe he can be a real President through January 2029?
