It all started with Rubber Soul. It was the first album where the Beatles had total artistic control in the studio, under the watchful eye of the great George Martin, of course. When it came out, it was the best rock album ever. Still my favorite Beatles album.
Now when Brain Wilson heard Rubber Soul, he knew it was time to stop writing about surfing and cars. Pet Sounds is about relationships. It’s pretty much a prefect album. The amazing thing is Wilson did it all by himself. He wrote and arranged the songs (with the best harmonies ever), and he produced the album! He was only 23. The Beatles had 4 guys: Lennon McCartney, Harrison, and Martin (sorry Ringo, you’re just a drummer).
The Beatles made a pretty good album in Revolver, but when they heard Pet Sounds, it made them up their game. The result: Sgt. Pepper. Was it better? I don’t know. I probably lean towards Pet Sounds. Its the only CD I ever bought the first day it was available. God I miss Tower Records.

It's clear now that this Zap fellow has purposely planted a seed of discord against The Beatles in an effort to prop up a me too band out of California. Monkey see monkey do. The Beach Boys have their spotlight in time for sure but it stops there. And who was the Beach Boys drummer? Couldn't tell you
