I see this trend everywhere and it makes me cringe. People asking for gofundme donations when I know they’re completely able to foot the bill. It’s $15k ffs to a guy who if even staked, plays high rollers and lives very well.
Daniels explanation for why he might do it makes no sense. When confronted with that situation, you’re either going to take my money or not, but I’m not posting a gofundme. It’s actually really bad business.
These guys play on stakes. It’s an investment when you stake one. They are saying I’m good enough to beat this game and you’re taking a shot they’re right. This dude isn’t 22. He’s pushing 40. When I see him asking for help to bury his father, my mind can only go a few places. He’s got some other addiction. He’s not very good at poker. He’s a scumbag flying on private planes and wants me to bury his dad.
I don’t want to be involved with that guy at all. Even if I get lucky and he dinks a tournament, he’s won a whole lot of tournaments, yet he can’t come up with $15k. Even if he dinks, do I get my money or end up having to make a thread exposing him in 2 years?
