I know some people laughed at the old concept of "peace through strength", but that has never applied more than it does today.
You can only control Iran by making them afraid of the consequences of behaving badly. You can't reason with them to be peaceful or play fairly. You can't give them money (even their own frozen money) in the hopes they'll spend it properly, and then be appreciative in return.
If Iran is afraid of you, they won't cause much trouble. If they're not afraid, they will both ramp up the aggression AND brag about how they stood up to the Western enemy.
Obama's solution to Iran: Make horrible nuclear deal with Iran which actually makes it easier for them to acquire nukes. Give Iran $400 million in money "owed" to Iran since the '70, in exchange for hostages. Get clowned in Iranian media right after this $400m deal, with leaders claiming victory over America.
Trump's solution to Iran: Cancel awful Obama nuclear deal. Freeze $6 billion of Iranian funds as part of sanctions. Kill major terrorist Qasem Soleimani, despite his high position in the Iranian government. Despite Democrats screaming that Iran would retaliate, they barely did anything in response and backed off, out of fear of Trump.
Biden's solution to Iran: Free the $6 billion frozen by Trump. Publicly state that you will restore the Iran nuclear deal. Watch Iran fund a major terrorist attack against Israel, while you deny it had anything to do with your poor leadership.
I don't know... which President handled Iran best over the past decade? It's a close one.
