Also in cringe news - Republican candidates share the stage in Iowa tonight.

I don’t think RFK will be there.

Hannity goaded DeSantis into debating Gavin Newsom.

This is gonna be Nixon with the flop sweat vs Kennedy

DeSantis can’t keep hiding but why get in the ring with a smooth pretty boy who can out debate you…. a guy who isn’t even a candidate? I guess it’s airtime for DeSantis. Maybe Hannity just fucked him up. idk

I understand DeSantis challenged Kamala to a debate. That’s strong Ron, lol. That woulda been close to illegal… but funny.

    In comes Newsom.

    It’s an interesting vignette.

Kamala gave some good advice yesterday "Community banks are in the community." And also "A vision of the future is coming." Why would DiSantis want to debate someone that astute?

There is always the scenario that the Democratic elites tap Biden on the shoulder and ask to have a chat. In which case, you might be looking at the DNC’s favorite son. I guess Newsom can not announce as that would be disruptive.

However, if Biden did back down as requested it could get pretty wild. Hillary takes one last crack at it? She’s gotta be viewed as problem by the power brokers. Too much baggage. She’s lucky she never was indicted. Different times.

In the end this feels like Newsom is the chosen one. I have no clue on the Democratic side but I’m catching this vibe.

I admit desantis likely done. Didn’t help he waited forever to declare and lost his momentum. Also going the route of trump junior didn’t help. His appeal was that he could be moderate and hence perform really well in main election. It’s been a pretty horrible collapse honestly.

Hard to imagine anyone beating trump. That bodes terrible for gop though since trump trump is at best even with Biden.

Christie a starting to move into most realistic alternative.

It was the fingers in the pudding. Hopefully everyone smartens up and the nominees will be RFK and Ramaswammy

Looks like the DeSantis train failed to even make it out of the station.

Why's everyone have such a hard-on for RFK? I'm not voting for any legacy bullshit with that last name; I don't give a fuck what his policies are.

Although, it might be enough to make me consider a Trump vote, even though I really hate Trump.

I don't have a hard on for RFK; its just that Biden is such a terrible failure and Kennedy is the only alternative in the primary. Trump is mentally ill, old, fat and an ego-maniac. He has never been fit to be president. The present choice, in either scenario, is going to be a disaster. In my view if the ultimate choice is not Ramaswammy vs Kennedy we're in for it. If that's not the choice I'm going for the lard-ass, frightened for what's to come.

I'd ask what qualities make Biden a failure and we could debate that, but I'm so old...and it seems like a lot of effort. I don't care about Biden either way, so I'll let it stand. I'd still vote for a convicted serial killer before I vote for anyone with the last name, 'Kennedy' in that family. Not that he has a chance. I can't imagine MSM will do him any favors if they think Biden is safer. There's also the possibility that he goes skiing this Winter, attempts to play football in so doing and dies the same way his brother did. I'd probably vote for him in the event his campaign was posthumous.

I'm going to do the same thing I've done the last two elections-vote third party. Actually, the only time I haven't is when I voted to reelect Obama.

If the name Kennedy means anything at all to you - you indeed must be old.

Young GenX and the rest have no connection. The JFK Jr crash was 1999 … wow

I previously compared DeSantis to a guy beating a 5-10 NL game who attempts to take the same strategy to 25-50, doesn't adjust, and then wonders why he's losing.

But that wasn't accurate. DeSantis was worse than that.

He was the guy killing a 5-10 game, who moved up to 25-50, completely abandoned what was working for him at 5-10, and invented a dumb new strategy on the fly which failed miserably. And then he wonders why he's losing.

I think he’s more like an above average 2/5 NL player that is trying his hand at pot limit Omaha. With predictable results.
