Hustler Casino Live to Host Historic $1 Million Minimum Buy-In Poker Game

    Original announcement

    https://www.pokernews.com/news/2023/...game-43015.htm

In May, Hustler Casino Live (HCL) will host what producer Ryan Feldman anticipates to be the "biggest event in live-streamed poker history," — a $1 million minimum buy-in cash game.

Actually, there might be two games, if Feldman puts together multiple nosebleed games, which he told PokerNews he'll attempt to pull off. The exact date of the stream isn't yet determined. The show's co-founder said they won't set a date until the lineup is in place.

What we do know at this point is that the no-limit hold'em blinds will start at $500/$1,000, but you can expect frequent straddles, the blinds to increase as the session progresses, and potentially upwards of $15 million or more on the table before it's all said and done. Feldman appeared on the HCL pre-game show on Tuesday afternoon with host Billy "DGAF" to share the announcement.

Seems like this started as a one day maybe two game and has now ballooned into damn near a week long.

This much money on the table for this long….. this many hands…. Someone is going to get stacked 2-3 times and set a loss record.

Im not sure why because I'm not a poker stream guy but this one has me interested.

Word is that we might have a Pfizer read sometime in the middle of the stream. I anxiously await to give my most heartfelt read. Last time I did about 18 hours straight of live commentary. Maybe I can get in a shout out in to all the "pure bloods" on PFA.

Maybe you guys can kill two birds with one stone, and have viagra be part of the Pfizer read, as well.

Couldn't this be all fake, though?

For one thing, other poker players (not at the table) can buy stakes in those who are, so if that happens, nobody is really buying in for a million in the sense of it being their own money. I suppose some of them could be.

Another question I would have is: What if everyone at the table just agrees to get together at the end and winnings and losses are only actually 10% of the amount of cash actually on the table?

Smells kind of like bullshit to me. Even the potential staking makes it bullshit in the sense of everyone is being repped as paying a million to buy-in, but it might not be (and likely often won't be) fully their money.

I mean we could “whatabout” this to death to the point where its all fake and there is no money up for grabs and they are all fake tournament chips.

I personally don't think thats the case. Many of these guys are billionaires, they going to own 100%. Some others are multi millionaires who have no issues taking 1-2 of said millions and putting it into play. Someone like a nic airball as an example, hes going to own 100%. The fact that a “kid” like Rampage is saying “yeah i got the million but im too young and my bankroll cant support owning 100% of my action on this….. and os doing do publicly tells me that this is real.

If this ends up being fake it would really put a bad light on the whole “high stakes stream” business and there are too many people involved which

    1. Would ruin their credibility
    2. Destroy an active business
    3. Be imposable to pull this level a conspiracy off with everyone telling the same lie

youre not wrong of course but for a site dedicated to scam busting, youd think druff would take the easy win and start a movement to enforce clarity on whose playing with their own money and who isnt.

Oddly enough (and ill try and dig it up) they did a event announcement w/ Doug Polk and as they read down the list they actually made comment on who the person was, how they are famous, how they made their money & if they were going to own 100% of themselves or not. It was quite literally discussed up front which is how i found out about Rampage selling 50% of the action. Give them all the credit in the world for that……. But if we being honest and we want to “whatabout” Jeff Bezos could be in the game and still sell half his action and not tell anyone……

Who the hell crossbooked with Mikki I don’t know how the hell he can afford this. It’s a whole month before his next check from Grampa assuming quarterly checks.

I’ve seen enough of Mikki to have a pretty good idea how this will work with him. I think he will probably show up…but with strict parameters. He will probably say he can only play a few hours and has a flight to catch or what not. Mikki is a ticking time bomb and he always goes bust if he stays the whole time (minus whatever he is able to squirrel out of his last all in). Him playing a million deep will be really tough for the guy because he feels pot committed once he has some coin in the pot.

He has one win and that was when the HCL stream first started. He called it off with A 10 high to Andy’s jacks and got lucky. He quickly racked up and said he had a flight back to Vegas. I believe every other single time he has lost everything (minus the squirreled chips). I think he will get the million together. He has gotten plenty of money together in the past. He is not going to look to mix it up. He just wants to be part of it. I think he’ll try to survive an abbreviated session before he takes off.

I’m really sick of people saying Mikki is a great guy because he is such a great dude to talk to off the felt. Have people never watched a single movie about conmen? They’re really good talkers and come off as real sweet trust worthy guys. I guess it’s the poker world and it’s the wallet that matters over character anyways (Or I guess in Mikki’s case what size the wallet is at the particular time). Nik Airball is a real “sweetheart” but 99 percent of these people wouldn’t have shit to say to him if he wasn’t facilitating these games.

Just an aside. Nick and Ryan really did a big favor for Doug. Just a day or two after his biggest fuck up with the Charlie Carrell stuff. Which was fucking awful. They go on his platform and give him a seat in the game. What a lucky fucker.

I’m really off watching these stream games lately. But I did watch the PokerGo stream and I will check out this game. How can you not? I think I said it before…but I find MPM more intriguing then then high stakes game right now. The 10/20/40 is of more consequence to those players than the 100/200 (at least feels) does to those players. I think it sometimes just feels like it’s a bunch of rich guys passing money around the table. I still know they feel it.

I think getting Mariano and Rampage in the mix is important. They are still not pure “pros” in the sense the make a good amount to their income through Youtube & Sponsorships. But they are as close to “pros” that we are going to get.

I don't think I am in conspiracy territory. People buying stakes in others, whether those stakes are, or are not, publicly known is hardly a matter of controversy; people just don't talk about it much because it ruins the immersion for the viewers. That's kind of like the thing with RIP having a piece of Robbi and that commentator pretending not to know what, "They're business partners," meant. He knew exactly what that meant.

So, I don't think it's totally fake, I just don't know that it's 100% how it will be portrayed. It's also like tournaments where people can have a stake in each other, agree to chops, etc...

With that, I am not suggesting that anything is an outright fabrication. I'm simply suggesting that some things are often unsaid and are not what they would necessarily appear to be to viewers, but hey, that's showbiz and there are far worse offenders.

I think that Hustler will promote the idea that Mikki is a baccarat savant quite a bit.
They have shown that they are willing to give him a platform to do so if he continues to show up for their big streams.
I think that this one they are going to go over the top with it.

Mikki is not going to be able to keep himself from 'mixing it up' after losing 1 pot. The only way he gets away with any $ left is if he wins early and then spends the next 8 hours getting high and doing cutaway interviews discussion his poker strategy and bacaratt excellence.

I expect to see some truly pathetic behavior in this stream from these characters. I don't even know who to root for.

Am I the only one who doesn't care one bit about this bullshit carnival show? There are at least 3 people in the lineup who are such obnoxious pricks that I don't want to know about anything they do or say. This is not a poker game. This is "The real crybabies of TV posturing."
