In NZ I'd just take the day off since we get at least 20 "sick" days which are generally paid leave separate from holidays.

You can "sell" a week of leave back to the company if the company agrees as well once per year.
This was good during Covid when no one could go anywhere.

One postive is the xmas holidays are in summer time, so most people use 6 days to pretty much get 3 weeks off, then another 5-10 days in middle of winter to fuck off to some Pacific Island for a week or 2.

As far as retirement goes, we do have a government pension paid out from age 65, and "kiwisaver" that employees put in 3% or more, and employers put in 3% pre-tax.

I chatted with a guy from CM's inner circle (pretending to be interested in joining). I brought up the fact that he increased the price from $500 to $1000. He said that he's aware, but because he paid Christopher a lump sum of $1500 prior to 7th of February, you got to keep the price of $500 per month until January 2024. I'm assuming this was the "test", because the deadline of the test CM announced a couple of weeks ago was 7th of February.
