Played the Wynn $1100 Prime and just now I am starting to feel a sore throat coming on. Hope it isn't the flu or covid.

I was out there last week with my buddy from so Fla who had never been to vegas before and we made the decission to take a pass on the mystery bounty. Turns out it was the right move for a few reasons.

Thats what happens with such a thing and no masks. Vaccine might help with symptoms and possibly make you asymptomatic but masks would have cut down on transmissions considerably. Sad. People hanging out for a week catch it early on then give it to a whole new group of people who sit across from them. Table changes of a tournment compound this as you are going to be exposed to more people.

No studies show masks work well against respiratory infections like COVID-19, a top White House health official has acknowledged.

“There is no study in the world that shows that masks work that well,” Dr. Ashish Jha, the White House’s COVID-19 coordinator, said during a recent discussion with the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Jha made the statement as he promoted the investments that have been made in improving air quality as a way to cut down on COVID-19 infections.

“So you’re never going to get the kind of benefit from mandatory year-round masking as you would from making substantial improvements in indoor air quality, plus it’s a lot easier to implement as well,” Jha added. “So this is an area where we’re doing a lot and trying to really encourage people to use the resources they have to make those investments and start really improving ventilation filtration in buildings.”

Few things are more tilting than some pretentious know-it-all lecturing anyone about a mask. I do have some questions though since you're so well informed:

do you wear a mask outside? alone in the car? in your own house? when you sneeze do you remove the mask to sneeze so as to spread your germs to everyone around you or do you sneeze directly into your mask leaving you with snot to walk around with until you're able to safely change your mask? And in such instances do you walk around with spare masks? How many masks do you posses at any given time? When the unmasked walk by you and call you an idiot or ask why you're trying to scare the children do you respond or just run away? How many vaccine shots have you taken? All of them? Do you support the masking of children and school shut downs?

On 2nd thought, just fuck off. Idgaf what you have to say. Weirdo freak.

Not Even N95 Masks Work To Stop Covid

Even N95's are junk in practical use from this finding and even I thought they must do something

I have a weakness of responding to fools. I don't recall last time I wore a mask and never wore them in my car or any such thing. The level of stupidity and anger in your questions shows how foolish you are.

You can read numerous studies that say YES, N95 masks do dampen the spread. My guess these studies far outweigh those that say they do nothing.

My guess is you're some dude who never had a decent job but pissed at the world and since you don't like masks you read everything you can to tell you otherwise. You do this while ignoring all the other evidence.

No one knows how well they work exactly but I've caught it once and I knew I was going to catch it because lots of COVID was around and someone invited this loser to eat dinner with us. The dude said he "wasn't feeling good been up 24 hours" but sat with us any way. Later I figured out that he likely has COVID. On cue I catch it.

Trivial to catch COVID sitting across from someone. Masks do 2 things. They keep your exhale to yourself vs causing a stream and traveling further away. Secondly they absolutely do filter a large portion of aerosols. If you find either of these hard to believe then I don't know what is going to fix that.

You can go to a tournament and expect to be sick or people could just wear a damn mask during a series. A lot of us who don't like but don't mind masks so much think those who whine so much are the actual pussies in these scenarios. (or they're fat)

N95 and KN95 are not comfortable. Definitely not something pleasant to wear during a poker tournament. Doing that would be a miserable experience. I would rather not play.

Cloth masks are pretty much useless, and surgical masks have some utilization to hold back COVID, but not nearly as good as N95/KN95. But those also aren't that comfortable to wear for a long time.

Also, since we are not going to stop COVID, avoiding transmission is more an exercise of delaying the inevitable. In some cases, it's actually beneficial to catch COVID as a more convenient time, so you're protected later. For example, while I didn't love it interrupting my WSOP, it was nice on a family vacation shortly thereafter that I had zero concern of catching COVID while traveling.

CEOs Of Southwest, American Airlines Question Need For Masks On Planes
    Friday, Dec 17, 2021

Why would they do this if the 'science' was settled.

The more comprehensive RCT's debunked masks usefulness in any measurable terms for respiratory virus spread reduction very early and this goes back for others decades and decades. Pfizer sponsored corporate media and .gov clowns messaging pushed some fucking dubious data and Mr King Shit Dr Fauci flip flopped so sorry but fuck off after that. I still never caught it and wore the surgical ones less than all the other employees who got covid all over the show, they gave them out in November 2021. LOL. At the largest company in NZ AFTER covid strains with any fucking IFR at all had already mutated to the moronic one, ass backwards retardation all across my pathetic nation.

Geez, you're making a bunch of assumptions about me. Normally, my New England sensibilities stop me from name calling and direct insults to people. I intended to delete the post until OK2 responded. You're trying to respond in kind by being presumptuous. Your "guess" is incorrect. I've no idea why you'd say I never had a decent job or why you'd think my employment history had anything to do with the present subject. You're calling me a fool yet you're the one going out to dinner with sick people. I wasn't that person nor would I be the person to expose someone to my sickness. And now you're saying you can't remember last time you wore a mask, you're eating out with sick people all while lecturing others about wearing a mask. I'm sorry I called you names and/or insulted you. I find it to be incredibly offensive to be lectured about a mask especially to later learn the person doing the lecturing is also a hypocrite. I can always try to be better, just like you.

One more question though; you said you can go to tournament and expect to be sick or wear a mask. You're implying an either/or scenario based solely on mask use? Are you of the belief that had those who got sick just worn a mask the outcome would've been any different?

I didn't choose to go out to dinner with someone sick, this guy called was invited and showed up. The point here is that I got it 100% sitting across from him. I can't think of a competitive event that is more conducive to COVID being spread than a poker tournament. If there is anywhere people should wear a mask it is poker tournaments. Put that together with a week long event and it is going to spread considerably more. Day 1 .. 2 .. 3. The mentality of gambling addicts going to keep them at tables too long.

BTW, you are the one who jumped to a ton of "assumptions" in your first response to me. These "assumptions" were meant to be rude and mocking.

If you are too slow to not understand how aggro your comments were then that is on you. To turn around and then play victim is too much. If you wanted a reasonable and polite sharing of ideas then that is how you should have approached it. I still believe you are a loser and nothing suggests otherwise. I should not have taken a shot at your job, just seems those the most obnoxious about the masks are also the more clueless in life.

In all the discussion about masks and poker over the years no one on this site has ever explained why a mask is not positive EV.

Back when I played covering your face was starting to be a thing. In my mind, Phil Lack really advanced the habit in popular culture.

Scarves were a trend. Cover your face and neck tells. It was viewed as an unfair advantage and caused friction at the table. Today you have carte blanche to cover up for medical reasons.

“Not something pleasant” to wear at the table? I have done some very unpleasant things in the course of earning a living. If it would help me make more money I would make the sacrifice. That’s just me.

Wear a mask or don’t wear a mask. I see they are making a comeback in my area. I give no fucks how you live your life. I swear I do not judge

I had a heart attack in November, 2019, was in intensive care for 18 days. Then covid hit the next March. I was recuperating from a heart attack during the heaviest part of the pandemic.

My doctors were warning the shit out of me. So I quarantined up for a few months but when Montana opened back up in MAY, 2020, I said fuck this shit. I ain't fucking hanging around here looking at four walls. I started going out doing whatever I wanted to do.

When the vaccine came out my doctors insisted I get the shots because they said I was high risk. So I got the shots, 4 of them.

About 6 months ago I developed a sore throat and runny nose. Didn't really feel bad. It was more annoying than anything. But I had a couple home test kits for covid. I tested positive. I waited until the next day and tested positive again.

I called my Primary and told her I tested positive with a home test kit. She asked if I was sick. I said no. She said to quarantine and if I get sick go to the hospital. So I rode out the five day quarantine.

At my next checkup she asked me how sick I got from covid. I said I didn't really get sick, just had a runny nose and scratchy throat for a couple days.

First words out of her mouth were "The vaccines saved you."

I don't know who the fuck to believe.

    Prove it

    I'll wait

Repeating things you decided are true doesn't make it so. Wearing a mask might have some NEGATIVE health implications, ever thought of that? Probably not because you don't actually know. You outsource your decisions to an authority, they've been shown to be lying about a lot of things.

    So go fuck yourself faggot
