California to be pounded by statewide megaflood by 2070?

In 1861 and 1862, there was a pattern of torrential rains which pounded California, burying Sacramento under 10 feet (!!) of water:



That's an actual photo of 1861 Sacramento.


It is believed that this will happen again sometime in the next few decades, and in fact could happen at any time.

I have seen some flooding in California, but never anything like described in this article.

Couple things, these information outlets must bring something new to the table every day/week. A lot of chatter in other words. Nothing false but don't build an ark just yet.

Saying something is due is neither right nor wrong. Your personal experience with floods relating to the last fifty years is irrelevant.

Let's hope the next great flood arrives soon after the imminent apocalyptic wild fire.

I didn't say I "don't believe" it. I said that it's not a sure thing, and could have many possible causes. The amount of time we've been observing the weather is just a blip in the earth's history, and even just a blip in human history.

Global warming is happening, but it's arrogant to declare that you KNOW the cause. You don't. Nobody does. There are just theories.

Forget that you relate scientific data to arrogance. Global warming's effect on our environment is accepted as fact. Given that our prayers may not be answered it would be prudent to take whatever measures possible just in case science is proven correct.
