This is because there's two separate concerns -- one from each side.

Democrats are screaming "MUH DEMOCRACY" and "MUH JANUARY 6" over that incident, and feel that further Republican rule will seek to remove voting rights and overturn elections.

Republicans feel that the government in engaging in an incredible overreach of power, and now has the cooperation of spineless corporations and mainstream media.

Both sides basically fear the other turning the country into a dictatorship. Not good.
