Maybe I should have my own Thread fir my random thoughts and feelings.
So, a guy admitted he and his Associates did an accidental Dine and Dash at a fancy restaurant. He and about 9 other people had dinner, and when the check came, one person was like,"I'm paying. " Another Associate was like,"No, I'm paying," taking the check out of the first Associate's hand. " A third Associate took the check ut of the second Associate's hand and said,"No, I'm paying. " You know where this is going, right? I'll tell it anyways. The Check went through multiple Associate's hands and one of the Associate's phone got a text saying their seats were ready at another Place. The Associates left tips and left to the other place. The next day, the main Associate didn't actually remember the bill being paid. He asked one Associate if he paid the Restaurant bill. The Associate was like,"I was about to pay but Tom took it out of my hand and claimed he was paying. The main Associate asked Tom if Tom paid. Tom was like,"No, Martin took the check from me and claimed he was paying." Main Associate asked Martin if he paid the bill. Martin was like,"Ronald took the check from me and claimed he was paying."
It's not hard to figure out where this went but I'll tell it anyways. Basically everyone in the group thought someone else paid for it. It turns out that NO ONE paid the bill and they only left a collected $70 tip and all accidentally skipped out on a $300 Dinner bill! The Main Associate felt like shit, accidentally dining and dashing on a $300 bill. IIRC, the Main Associate went to the Restaurant soon after the mistake and paid the $300 himself, apologizing for the mistake. Moral of this is to not "pass," the damn check around! ONE person should have been in charge of the bill and that person alone should have paid. Or at LEAST have everyone chip in in cash and have everyone agree to not touch the money after it's on the table.
