Occams razor is basically the pc storyline out there, that Toronto valued the 2 Mets pitchers more than most public evaluators.

Being that he went to the "other" New York, there was the jump right away that they were screwing over the Yankees. That would make more sense if the trade actually happened right at the deadline (they were stringing them along or some nonsense), but it did not. Now I read today that sources from the Twins say that Toronto demanded 1 of the top 2 prospects (Lewis and Kiriloff) from Minnesota and got a hard no on that. Supposedly, Toronto never made another offer with Minnesota before accepting the Mets deal.

Maybe they just wanted him shipped to the other league. Kinda dumb since he only has 1 more year of control and can wind up right back in the AL before Toronto expects to contend again anyway.
It didn't seem like the Jays got much for Stro, Blisterfinger or Biagini.

The market for pitchers was quite odd....there were some big names out there but no one wanted to pay up for them. Only Houston had the balls to go big.

But if I'm the Jays and wasn't getting much for pitchers, keep them?! They have money since the young guys cost less than a large beer at the Rogers Centre.
