im sorry you had to find out like this but thats textbook.
Conservatives tend to just feel proud of what they accomplished, and don't sit around feeling guilty. They still have empathy, but they show it differently, such as through charitable donations or similar means. Conservatives don't virtue signal very much through their politics, while liberals do it constantly. The only conservative virtue signaling I tend to see has to do with patriotism, but even that tends to die down when we're not at war.
Economic conservatives tend to attribute too much of their success to their own efforts versus the good fortune of their personal circumstance, and tend to dismiss how they were given a leg up on others that are less fortunate by their parent’s financial situation, social status, and skin color.

P.S. Also, conservatives get *more* “patriotic” during wars started by Republicans as long as they are not going too badly, while a substantial portion of the left oppose most wars regardless of their progress. That’s why Bush won re-election in 2004 (“I’m a war president”, “Don’t change horses in midstream”) despite solid evidence that Team Bush lied about WMDs, but the GOP was rebuked at the polls in 2006 after the war in Iraq turned really bad for US troops, and Bush ended up sacking Rumsfeld immediately after the election against Dick Cheney’s advice.
