You do realize the the AR is basically like every other semi automatic rifle right? In fact, since it was all close ranage, he could have used as semi automatic pistol and caused just as much damage. Banning the AR wouldnt have stopped this as there are plenty of other weapons he could have used that would have been just as effective.
I mean this should be done for all privately owned guns.
