I wonder how it works with sports bars. I know they have to pay a lot more, but I wonder how many 'buys' it takes to show it on, say, 30 screens. Do they have to pay per screen?
We have a bar and you pay one price to show indoors. They base it on your max occupancy. It's also a bit weird because you can actually negotiate down the price with your rep. At our place it's usually between 5k and 15k depending on the fight.
Also worth noting that these bar buys and movie theater buys don't get counted at all as far as the ppv number goes. That number is strictly cable/sat/OTT consumer purchases.
