they have claimed for a while that another 'raid on entabbe' style assault might do the trick of the defensive forces were softened up suitably. eg the US blows the doors off the joint and then the israeli ground forces swoop in, take control, plant explosives, and bounce. and honestly if anyone could do it its the israelis.

but again the 'then what' aspect of this all is hard to square away. syria seems to be recovering nicely from its coup but who knows how this would break...
