I actually read those and may look into their situation if there's more than a handful of people. If aany group strands me on the freeway I'll dislike your cause forever.

The BLM need to organize better and get on the message. They need to follow MLK's blueprint for protesting. Time for a the BLM to rename themselves.

Better yet the BLMer's need to go the fuck home because they're being played by the media. Look up the statistics. If there's a cop wrongfully killing a black person on tape just know the PD is going to be paying a huge settlement that they can't afford.

Easiest and most effective solution: Black cops in black neighborhoods

trust me, if the PD's were paying out these civil suits, they'd start acting accrodingly pretty fucking quickly. That's why police unions fight against things like having "malpractice" type insurance for these situations..

you know who foots the bill? whatever city the PD is in. So in essence, John Q Public pays for this shit.

Like here in chicago, the CPD dosen't pay shit for the 100's of millions in settlements over the years. The City has. and who pays for that? we do. the public

shut it down FPS, you're out of your element here.

I keep running into this suggestion.
Are you sure that black people would want that? That would remove an externalization of their problems: 'blame whitey"

one of the pressures a white person has is that social/professional success/failure can not as easily be blamed on society/someone else--failure is a personal responsibility in white culture

that may explain why that while by most measures of quality of life white people have it better than black, the one meaure that is the exception is suicide, for whites in the US rates are double that of blacks

Interesting suicide numbers, tbh my suggestion would never be suggested or considered. The reason I even post on this subject is because white cops in black neighborhoods have the worst job in the world and deserve to be defended from false accusations of racism, threats of violence, riots, go to prison because of some super PC politicians or unfair media coverage on a questionable use of force situation.

One day these cops may be all that stands between us and these violent predators.

New law.... Every police officer must live within 5 miles of the police station in every city/town of >10K people.

Now they think they have a right to pitch a tent on surface streets.

St. Paul, Minn. - Police officers moved in on protesters camped out in front of the governor's residence early Tuesday, removing property that was blocking Summit Avenue.

Dozens of St. Paul police officers approached the encampment around 2 a.m. and told protesters that they can no longer block traffic on Summit Avenue. People who want to continue protesting must do so from the sidewalk. Police gave the protesters a chance to remove their tents and other belongings that were blocking the street, then public works crews collected the remaining items and trucked them away.

Protesters can reclaim those items at a later date.
The operation raised emotions on the scene, with protesters yelling and cursing at officers. One even offered to fight police on the scene.

"They come with the squads and say 'hey, you got to get out of here,' we say 'hold on, can we gather our stuff, take our tents down," one peaceful protester told KARE 11's Ivory Hecker. "So as we go to take our tents down they got to cuttin' em down for us, and they told us to move."
"They just took our stuff," he added. "That's just what it was and it's not fair. It's not right, all we want is answers and justice (for Philando Castile)."

When squads left around 3:30 a.m. some protesters turned their anger on the media, forcing them from the scene and at one point threatening a KARE 11 photojournalist.

Police reopened Summit Avenue for a short period of time but closed it again when protesters refused to stay on the sidewalk. It remained closed through the morning hours.
Early Tuesday morning, police released a statement saying "The Saint Paul Police Department will continue to work to ensure the safety of demonstrators as well as those who use Summit Avenue on a daily basis to get to work and make their way through the neighborhood."
Also the bolded part is clearly BS

they already are, just look at the experience of white people caught passing through S Central LA after the Rodney King policemen were found not guilty in Simi Valley 1994

I-94 shutdown: 1 charged with felony riot

ST PAUL, Minn. - Nearly 50 people were formally charged with third-degree riot in connection with the protest that shutdown Interstate 94 Saturday night. So far, only one man is facing felony charges.

Louis Hunter, 37, of St. Louis Park, was charged with two felony counts of second-degree riot - armed with a dangerous weapon.

Twenty-one officers were injured by rocks, bottles and construction debris. Officers fired gas and non-lethal marking rounds into the crowds.

St. Paul Police claim in the charging document that Hunter was wearing white pants and carrying a large board when an officer hit him with a green marking round. In the court records, Hunter is quoted as saying he was targeted by police "for no apparent reason."

A KARE 11 photojournalist captured a similar scene as described in the complaint. The man in the video is wearing a mask so he cannot be positively identified as Hunter. The man in the video has on white pants and is waving a 2x4 when he was hit by the 40 mm green marking rounds several times, eventually dropping the board.

When shown a still image of this scene Hunter's attorneys would neither confirm nor deny it was their client. They told the court that Hunter is Philando Castile's second cousin and asked that he be released in order to attend the funeral later this week. Hunter was allowed out on conditional release and did not have to post bond.

Feel bad for the shit the good cops are taking from the press, the protests, and the new policies they are sure to be getting. I worked as a computer consultant at NYPD HQ for many years, and I can tell you most of these cases where the cop shoots without a strong reason is because they get scared and panic instead of following the proper procedure and the guy is not cooperating or acting strange. You become somewhat paranoid in public when so many people hate you from all the bad press, and dealing with the scum. When I worked there for example I never would order food delivered for example because always a risk they poison the food or something. Also saw a lot of victims, which makes you depressed and angry at the same time. So its really a no win job in the big cities.

The U of MN officer that was reported to have sustained a spinal fracture has been cleared to return to work and the diagnosis has been changed to compression injury, no fracture. Either way a 25# concrete block to the dome can't feel good, and could have easily killed him.

Most, but not all, of the cities have insurance which distributes the risk. The retention on most of the policies is $100k.
