So disappointing it has to be that guy.

I find it completely impossible for a straight male that is my age to see JT as anthing but the fag from N'Sync ever ever ever ever. I will never be sold even if he gets plastic surgery and stops sounding like a fag.

Too fucking bad. That would have been awesome. Went from a good chance of being excellent to completely unwatchable.

Ben Affleck does one shit movie, for every good movie that he makes.

Justin Timberlake only does shit movies.
It looks like JT bends over and takes it up the ass.
    JT is a terrible actor.

Yes anonomoose, I consider Leo in a whole other world of acting than Justin fucking Timberlake. I don't think that sounds stupid at all.

I hope Lance Bass is in the movie as some grindr who used to "work" with JT and he fucks Hunter Parrish and the winner gets entry into the WSOTP.

Then in an ironic twist of fate, Lance Bass Tony Dunst and Tom Dwan are 3 handed for the bracelet in a twink of new vs twink of old battle and then 30 minutes into it they all just say fuck it, go shopping and have a threesome.

    THE END

I have to decide if I go see this in the theater, or just Jewishly wait 6 months for them to send me the free DVD.

    Tough decision.

12? Cry me a river. The correct age to never see JT as anything other than N'Sync is 28-32. Just like I don't see NPH as Doogie or Mark Wahlberg as Marky Mark like 4Dragons does because I'm too young. Swear to god if you are 28-32 and are a JT fan you HAVE to be gay. There is no other way around it.

I remember on NWP how much this place loves JT and how much heat I took for my take. I knew the hate was coming. If you are younger or older than me I suppose you get a free pass. Although it is still bizarre to me how anyone regardless of age could ever be a fan. I suppose that is because I was the right age to have N'Sync in my face. Maybe he is this awesome actor that you guys think but I will never be able to see it.

The movie opened up at #3 on the US Box Office with a whopping $7.6 million 3026 theaters. That number is atrocious but it did gross $23.5 million overseas to bring the total to $31.1 million.

    8% on rottentomatoes.com.

    http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/runner_runner/

    Pretty bad.

38% of the rottentomatoes "audience" liked it, which is a lot better than 8%, but still pretty bad, as their audience tends to like a lot of shit.

I think I might wait for the free DVD they send me.

It sounds bad but I'm sure it will be on DVD sooner after bombing and probably leaked on the internet any day now.

Just for shits I went to look on 2+2 to see what people are saying and a few of the Mongolians over there seemed to like it and others did not.

Wife wanted to see it because of JT so off we went.

    Observations.

    1. The timeline is completely fucked up in this movie. They show headlines that unless Im going blind even mention the recent UIS ATTY SDNY crackdown on the Russian gambling ring.

    2. Yes JTs character goes to Costa Rica over a superuser issue then they somehow turn it into a Full Tilt Ponzi issue where the Boss is syphoning money off the site and planning to leave JT holding the bag.

    3. JTs character with a last name of Furst is not lost on me. Along with the whole Midnight Black/Black Card this still seems like more an indictment of FTP then the UB Scandal as UB is mentioned by name in the movie when they are trying to steal players from some "super affiliate"

    4. Its too bad the assholes from UB/AP didnt get the swerve rendition treatment Affleck got in the end. and where the fuck was JT and that hot chick going in the private jet?? Antiqua?? Who knows..

It was ok overall glad it was a cheap twilight matinee so didnt spend too much. Cheap drinks due to theater jewcup rewards situation and snuck shit it to munch on. Spent under $15 for both of us.

Knowing Druff's read on this.. Go if you want its ok for matinee prices otherwise just wait for the free DVD..

FTW feeding whole raw chickens to Crocs (PS I really thought the 2 dudes were gonna be croc food) Ok now that Ive ruined it for everybody just wait for the fucking DVD....

Went to see this film. It was ok, but an entertaining film. Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake acting in this movie was decent. I dislike how most people think that every movie that comes out has to be Oscar award winning film. Some movies, such as this one, are not going to be the greatest, but will be entertaining.

    BUMP

This is out on DVD already.

I received my copy (for free) because I was in the Blu-Ray Extra called "House Of Cards: The Inside Story of Online Poker". Annoyingly, this extra is NOT on the DVD version, only the Blu-Ray version.

Anyway, I didn't watch the movie yet, but I did watch the extra.

I was contacted by the company producing the extra long after they completed filming of Runner Runner. The filming of the actual movie wrapped in August, 2012. In March, 2013, I went to their Hollywood studio to be interviewed for the extra.

I was NOT compensated for my appearance, other than some mileage expenses. I was told that the feature would be discussing real-life cheating in online poker, so I wanted to be part of it, in order to get out the stories of UB and Full Tilt to a mainstream audience.

I was told that a lawyer for Full Tilt (the original owners) would be coming the next day, and they'd be interviewing him, as well. He never appeared in the extra.

The interview with me lasted about an hour. They asked me a lot of general questions about online poker, my experience with it, and the various cheating scandals. I was happy with the line of questioning.

I was quite aware that most of my interview would end up on the cutting room floor. That's how Hollywood works -- they record a lot and use just a little.

If you recall, the nerds on 2+2 gave me a REALLY hard time in 2008 when, at the end of the "60 Minutes" online poker piece, I said that cheating could be happening elsewhere. (I was vindicated in 2011 after the Full Tilt debacle, but everyone in 2008 thought it was impossible that big sites like Pokerstars or Full Tilt could even POSSIBLY be shady.)

What annoyed me about this was the fact that "60 Minutes" had cut my statement immediately after that, indicating that legalization and regulation was the key to stopping future cheating scandals.

I was so frustrated about this omission that, when CNBC expressed interest in having me do an interview with them the following year, I made it clear that I wanted one of my pro-regulation statements to make it on air. (They kept to it, and indeed that's the last thing you hear me say on the CNBC special.)

    But back to "Runner, Runner".

I was somewhat disappointed watching the extra that the cheating scandals were both minimized and incorrectly portrayed. UB ad Full Tilt were NEVER mentioned by name. Even worse, it was strongly implied that outsiders breached the security, rather than UB and Full Tilt directly cheating people. To their credit, they did show very short statements of mine talking about both situations accurately (again, not naming either site), but then immediately cut to other people who contradicted me. In one case, someone said something like, "The people who are smart enough to create these systems are also smart enough to find ways around the security", implying that rogue programmers did it (which was not the case in either scandal).

The cheating segment was, in general, fairly short, while the focus seemed more on Black Friday and the fact that outlawing online poker is wrong and ineffective.

I probably wouldn't have pahticipated had I known that this would have been the final product, as I really believed that the extra would be a documentary on real poker cheating, to complement the movie, which was a fictional story of a cheating poker site and shady ownership.

On a side note, they seemed to really love Jesse Sylvia, as he definitely got the most screen time in the extra. This is odd, because he really had nothing to do with any of the cheating scandals, and he wasn't really known as a major online poker player. His fame obviously came from his 2nd place finish in the 2012 Main Event. I assume that they chose to show him the most because everyone else they interviewed was over 40, and you know how much Hollywood loves youth. He spoke well, but I didn't quite understand his relevance in the piece.

I was actually going to ask you about this sometime as far as how that segment turned out.

This movie was such a flop at the box office at least in the USA anyways.

I did see the movie a few weeks ago with a free coupon code I had through a streaming site and I won't be purchasing a hard copy of this below average film I don't care to see again until I can get one really cheap new or used because it's not worth much to me but I did wonder how the extras were.
