Besides the Co and Main Event the other three fights on the PPV have no business being there. Those three fights belong on one of the Fuel TV events imo.
Jose Aldo is one of my favorite fighters and I see him crushing The Korean Zombie.
100 percent agree. And the co main event could easily be 3rd or 4th on the card. Jose Aldo is -800 at most books. I get that the zombie is a replacement and injuries happen but when that happens you need figure shit out.
I dont care about the money but I wont buy it and hope others dont just out of principle.
Keep in mind too that this is a Brazilian appealing card. I assume that the UFC is willing to put on a card with lesser known fighters in an attempt to grow the market. I expect the fights to be very entertaining just not blockbuster level. I will be streaming this one anyways so I will try not to bitch as the UFC will be making no money off of me.
Even Rogan is skipping this event. Gonna be Goldie and Brian Stann.
Fights that were supposed to be on the card:
Maia v Koscheck
Phil Harris v somebody
Robert Drysdale's UFC debut (TKO'd by staph)
pettis-aldo, obv

machida v davis makes me want to stop giving a fuck entirely.
like just 100% completely never give a fuck about mma ever again.

the two possible outcomes are machida merc'ing a sloth like davis from the outside without even getting out of breath, or machida spending 15 minutes under davis and losing due to position in front of a brazilian crowd.
we get to see machida fight like what, three times every two years if we are lucky. hes one of the greatest talents in martial arts. his started fighting professionally a decade ago, and did not lose for over 6 straight years. hes already rumored to be flirting with retirement. and we get him versus the one fighter in the division effectively guaranteed to make this fight suck to pieces.

So effectively you are saying GSP is boring as fuck
No because I see and appreciate the genius in what GSP does, which is maintain dominance while doing damage and staying out of trouble; hes the best in the world at it. And lest we forget, the kid has paws. Shout out to Kos' orbital bone. GSP has a pretty flawless program, he takes the sport seriously, and I respect his artistry although I dont consider it terribly exhilarating.
Phil Davis is a B level scrub with a high level wrestling pedigree and exactly nothing else.

I have to say Im biased since Askren is from my area, but I've never seen someone tell their opponent exactly what hes going to do to them, and he tells them that theres nothing they can do about it, and when he says it its not like Chael talk he actually believes it 100% then he goes out and does it.
If you missed the piece on the russians with Askren and Pettis check it out.
