FLAG BURNING and FREE SPEECH

First, I am very against the burning of the American flag in general. The only time an American flag can and should be burned is when it is properly retired.

Second, when it comes to Executive Orders (EOs), I think Trump should have left this topic alone and saved his political capitol for other heavier issues.

Third, now the question is raised- Which flags can be burned and not burned with punishment?

If only common sense would prevail in all these issues. The common sense approach to flag burning is to ignore it. If a person wants to go in their own back yard and burn their flag within a contained burn area then have at it. Film and post if you want. If a person wants to burn a flag in public it just needs to be in a place where burning is permitted like a campsite or public grill.

If you're in the middle of the street or on a sidewalk or in any other place where lighting a fire might jeopardize safety then there should be a zero tolerance policy and the person should be charged and prosecuted accordingly. Not for what was burned but fur burning anything in places it is not allowed. Trump promised a revolution of common sense. This ain't it.

It says a few things about the person who would choose to burn a flag as a form of expression in the 1st place but if no other laws were broken then we just let that shit slide and trust that the idiot lighting a fire is probably going to get what's coming at some later point. The Moslems get all offended when someone draws a cartoon or otherwise disrespects Muhammed or makes fun of them. They get really pissed when you start burning the Koran. We all recognize how in America its tough shit for Islam because our rights come before their sensibilities. Burning the flag is no different.
