Angels never allowed him to prove himself in playoff tournament against the best
They're a Sasaki away from having a full strength starting rotation, so there's no excuse if they let the Padres catch them now.
I’ll be fading Roki per the program. A polite & sensitive lad.

The bullpen is a giant black hole. There’s a handy excuse for you.

I know you are fixated on Mookie’s AIDS but today he said it wasn’t the AIDS - it has been his hand. Ever since his hand injury last year he’s been poor and he doesn’t know what to do. He’s shook and he’ll tell you so.

They measured hand strength and it is stronger than it was.

    I have my own theory.

Padres perma sat Tatis even one run behind going into a day off. Take your uniform off sir. They won.

    What is the theory?

I don't believe the hand strength BS, but Mookie himself might believe it.

It's easier to accept that your hand aches than being a healthy early-30s athlete brought down to mediocrity by Influenza SuperAIDS.

But yeah, you don't just come back perfect after you drop a ton of muscle from a horrible virus, right before the season starts.

Ironically, had Mookie been a fatass, his body probably would have handled it better, as he'd likely have lost the fat first before the muscle significantly atrophied.

There aren't many health advantages to being fat, but one of those few advantages is your body being able to better handle rapid, involuntary weight loss. Mookie was already thin, so it's likely that the 30-pound drop ate away a lot of his muscle.

The other problem was that Mookie couldn't keep food down while this was all going on, so I'm guessing he was protein insufficient.

That's a disaster if you already have low body fat and your body is trying to make up for it by grabbing muscle tissue as a substitute. Muscle preservation during rapid weight loss depends heavily on proper protein intake.

The muscle loss sounds like a recipe for rapid aging as is often true with all manner of health issues and injury.

Here's the article Sanlmar was talking about: https://archive.ph/6kUpk

Author Dylan Hernandez is hit and miss. Sometimes he produces good stuff, sometimes not.

In this case, the article wasn't very good. How can he not even touch on the highly unusual illness Betts had in the spring?

I’ve been on the Brewers like everyone for last two weeks. All the normal spots.

What I’m killing it at new though is live betting based on exit velocity outs. Like a starter gets through first 2 innings at home without giving up any runs, but every out is coming off the bat 106 but he got lucky. I usually bet it after 2nd or third where he’s going to be in for multiple innings, yet you get good odds as the other team hasn’t batted in their half if at home or try to cherry pick + situations.

I’m at like 70% for the last month just using this. I’m sure others are doing it, but I’m often watching ABs on my app with exit velocity and just stumbled across hard outs and thinking eventually these are going to drop. And so far they have started to drop or go out most nights.

Anyone else do this with any formulaic approach?

Meantime tomorrow’s game is gonna be a pitching shitshow on both sides.
I posted this in the early morning hours yesterday prior to May the mound for the Sawks.

lol, the Sawks wasted no time deprogrammimg Dodgers Mark Prior fail out of Gingergaard. I know I would.

Brewers Sawks and Cleveland. New school pitching. Deempahsizing 4 Seam and weighted balls and leaning into the cutter. It’s working

This is actually a good idea. Which app is showing exit velocity?

BCR: My app for BetRivers Sportsbook has exit velocity. I’m sure there are other apps out there with it though.

    Is it Clase approved play?

(I can't talk shit after the great Twins fire sale of 2025)

Random fun/baseball-is-weird fact: Before Wednesday, there had been only 3 players in MLB history to have back2back games with a HR and 2 steals; Ichiro, Rickey, and George Sisler.

Then came a fourth. Josh Naylor, the first baseman with 13th percentile sprint speed, joined the club. He also has 21 steals on the year, while only being caught twice. At some point, you would think pitchers will start respecting his gigantic leads off of first.

Holding runners has gone the way of the bunt… it’s a lost art, as are so many other parts of this once-great game.

I’m surprised the stolen base hasn’t become even more commonplace when you combine that with the larger bags.

Imagine what the 1985 Cardinals would have done against today’s pitchers

6'7", 300 pound Aaron Judge stole 10 bases last year and 6 this year. At least they caught him 3 times this year. In 2024, he was 10/10.

Tonight's Dodgers/Jays game featured starting pitchers who faced each other in 2008.

George W. Bush was in the White House then.

First time 2 guys faced off as rookies and then each had 3000 KO’s.
