This is a new one for me.

I'm making Day 2 with literally the shortest stack. Never done that before in my life.

So needless to say, I'm not too optimistic.

    I had a few brutal/frustrating moments.

In mid-late position, I was dealt KJo, but the jack flipped up when it was dealt to me. I had no control over this, as it was dealer error. I was given a 9 instead, and folded pre. Ronnie Bardah then raised with A9 from the SB, and the BB called. Flop came J94, Ronnie bet, BB folded. So had I been able to play the KJ (as I should have), I would have outflopped Ronnie, and barring a bad beat, would have gotten a decent pot off him. Even worse, the very next hand I got dealt JJ and Jesse Martin turned a straight against me on an underboard. That hand wouldn't have happened either, as everything would have been different. Was down to 24k after that, and sunk as low as 15k.

I recovered from this and had about 40k at a new, lively table with Antonio Esfandiari, David Olson, David Benyamine, and others.

    Then came the killer hand.

Had KK in the SB. Blinds 500-1000. Antonio opened from UTG, Benyamine called on the button, I 3-bet, both called. Pot size 10k. Flop was KQ4 with 2 diamonds. I bet, Antonio raised, Benyamine cold called, I 3-bet, Antonio 4-bet, Benyamine cold called again. I could have 5-bet, but I knew exactly what everyone had. Benyamine had a flush draw, Antonio had 2 pair or a lower set. So I set up a turn check-raise, barring a diamond. Pot now 22k. Turn was 7d. Damn. I checked, and Antonio foolishly fired out despite it being OBVIOUS that Benyamine had a flush draw. Of course, Benyamine raised, I had to call 4k hoping for a board pair, and Antonio called. Pot size 34k. River was 2d. I checked, Antonio checked, Benyamine bet, I folded, Antonio called. Benyamine showed JdTd. Huge draw for sure, but so annoying that Antonio fired into his obvious flush. Antonio was muttering how sick it was (and was down to almost nothing after this), but I told him he was behind the whole way. Pot ended up 38k. When I told him I had KK, he was shocked.

Bill Chen was then moved to the table, and after initially beating him in a hand AJ over KJ, Bill got it all in against me. Flop was T high 2 spades, Bill had AQss, I had KT. Turn spade, and Bill took the pot.

From there I continued losing the few hands I was able to play, and that's why I finished with 5300.

    So frustrating.

Will need a miracle tomorrow to get back in contention.

Not only that, but I got a bad table draw.

Not that it matters much at the moment.

I accomplished something new in my life. I'm returning to WSOP Day 2 as the very shortest stack remaining. Boy will my mom be proud! #pfa50

Oh, and I also never hit as high as 43k. My highest spot was 42 and change, though I hit over 40 several times. I kept going up and down like a yoyo, but sadly ended at what was (by far) my low point.

Didn't get a good starting table draw. It included Rep Porter, Greg Debora, Chris Tryba, and Gabriel Nassif. Porter was quickly moved to another table, but was replaced by the tough Tommy Hang.

Aside from Nassif, who finished with 50k, none of us fared too well. Tryba and I are the two of the three lowest stacks entering Day 2, while Hang and Porter busted. Not clear what happened to Debora. This despite the fact that 74 of the 117 who entered will move on.

sounds like it's time for for the worst hand to win a triple up.

Got it in 22 vs KJo. Flop J. Out. Even if I could have picked any hand dealt to play, I'd still be out! Next is 50-50 NL on Saturday. #pfa50

I was dealt like 15 hands. Won 1 picking up blinds. Other 14 would've gotten to showdown & lost. Literally an inevitable bust. #pfa50
