Akili Smith
Both to shitty teams where they never really had a chance but neither qb had absolutely any kind of tangible NFL success.
A tiny part of me is nervous that CK ends up going huge to get Mariota who then gets hurt or under-performs for some reason. I would hate to see CK make all these changes only to have them backfire.
That being said, I would trust Chip to throw darts within an inch of my ball sac and I can't wait to see what he does.
If the Eagles manage to get to the super bowl next year after all these moves it would be legendary.
I just see RGIII written all over this one if they do it...
but who knows, maybe marcus will be closer to luck than RGIII, but he's not close enough to a "can't miss" to give up a couple of firsts, a second, and some good, established veteran players...

I think MM is going to be a huge disappointment.
He is one of those kids where I actually hate that he's such a good kid because he has basically no upside. He's the type of kid who has been studying film, showing up at practice on time, eating his veggies his whole life. And that means you'll have no disciplinary issues with him, but kids like him are already near their ceiling. You want the raw good kid, not a polished half field spread option kid with average NFL tools. He's almost as good as he'll ever be, and that's not near good enough.
I really like him and think he was a great kid and college player, so it isnt personal, and this will get bumped and you can laugh at me if I'm wrong in a few years, but I don't see it at all. I would actually like to be wrong on this one because he's a class act.

But could he perform well in Kellys offense as opposed to most others though? I think Ken W. will either adapt bigtime or trade him. I'm not sure he even beats out mettenberger
China. Yeah, Chip Kelly's offense is obviously QB-friendly. I really hope he thrives in Tennessee, but if you have a DVR, go back and watch his highlights. In 80% of them he's throwing to a guy who is open by 20 yards. Such a different game in the NFL. I'm no expert, and it's the draft, so it's all speculation, just my gut feel on that type of player and what I've seen with him. When it comes to the draft, there's no such thing as an expert. I've seen the Browns hire some draft guru like 6 times and they all fail. It's a bit of a coinflip.
I'd be curious if that was true Vegas. There's so much bullshit floated by the team that owns the pick that it's hard to seperate truth from bs with these drafts.
