Thought this was an interesting listen as one who is convinced we are at a crossroads with regard to brick & mortar casinos as we have known them for reasons too numerous to list here.

Casinos are worried that young people aren't interested in playing slots or other games of luck. They're turning to games that require skill, like basketball. (2% of slots players are under the age of 35).

Borgata hoists up a full court shot to save their ass and the future of casinos.

Never understood why anyone would sit around for hours and feed money to a slot machine. I've done it a couple of times, there is no skill involved and its as exciting as watching grass grow. Or roulette, or keno, or that spinning wheel money thing. Craps too, but a bunch of drunks around a crap table has some entertainment value at least.

If casinos want more people they should have more beatable games.

I went to Yonkers race way when they first.got a licence to install slots.. about 5 years ago I think..

In a matter of les then an hour I dropped 300 in 25c slots.

Fuck that, never went again.

The place was packed. They have about 3500 machines. I was just walking around with a drink for about an hour and never saw any real money being hit by any of the players..

A generation or two who have been nursed at the tit of competitive video gaming are never going give slots & roulette the action the casinos require.

Slots were entertaining mechanical wonders if you were a cowboy in a saloon. Later the electronic machines wowed your grandmother.

That players might make money grinding some form of pac man is interesting to consider. Doubt such a scenario comes to pass.
