America's Got Talent with Howard - Review

I have to say I am a bit disappointed with this show. Anyone else feel this way? Not getting enough of the real Howard (he's too nice for my taste) and the acts are well... who cares? Nothing earth shakingly interesting or compelling. Also is the editing off or am I being too critical? Seems like they are cutting out too much.

Now granted, I don't like shows like this from the get-go and only tuned in because I'm a Howard fan... but I'm just not getting into it, with or without my fave radio guy.

    What do you guys think?

I enjoyed last nights show, I thought last night was good, the Rolling Stones / Metallica intro was amazing... tonight was meh.... but I have never watched this show ever until now so I don't know what to expect, but I will probably keep watching, especially for the epic Ben Stern stuff that was in the previews

Saw about an hour 15 of the first show, that was about enough for me. Just not my type of show really, maybe the later rounds will be compelling. I'll try again when they're live.

For context, I've bought pretty much everything Stern's ever sold since the first time I saw the Channel 9 show. I bought my brother Crucified By The FCC (cassette version) for Christmas when I was like 12, I bought each of Stern's books the days they each came out, used to listen to WBCN at night when he first came on, and have listened to most of every single sirius show, and every single wrap-up show. But this isn't really Howard's show, and God help me, I'd rather hear him talk about these shows than actually sit through them myself.

i am a huge fan of stern and listen to as much as i can of every live show they do ever since 08 ish.
the show is not nearly as good as it was in the artie glory days but its still worth listening too.
so obv he has been talking agt evryday for like 5 months now on his show so idvrd the first ep and watch most of it this morning.

it wa spretty good i mean i didnt expect much but there were a few lol lines had. i mean the show isnt great or anything but it was decent . forgot to dvr the show tonight but im def gonna stick with it cuz im that big of a stern fan even if its only a ok show.

id say first show from what i saw was like a 7 on 10. most of the 3 panel judge shows suck anyways but i gotta admit simon cowell is always fun to watch

Howard jumped the shark years ago. The move to satellite hasn't worked at all. The brilliance of the show was being able to push the envelope in terms of what he could get away with on terrestrial radio.

It's obvious at this point that he doesn't even care about the radio show anymore.

I actually thought the same, Devidee, when they first made the move to Sirius, but found that I still enjoyed the show very much. That hasn't changed for me to this day. I remember even thinking that the show would suck after Howard got divorced, because it would change the dynamic of how he related to the guests, but it was fine and still good. Some people said that once he became a millionaire, it would ruin it as well. Nothing seems to remove the humor and entertainment value for me though.
