Have you tried the McClure's bloody mary? A little sour for me but not awful.
Coconut water is the nuts! I stocked up on 1l bottles from asda the other day as they were on offer 2 for £3, stick em in the freezer for half an hour and they are the most refreshing/rehydrating drink when ice cold.
Also, I find a banana followed by some fatty foods help.

Just listened to STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW and yes a lot of the answers are available on line as this was.
I don't remember all of it but the liver is mostly to blame because the alcohol in general wants to rid you of your poison and does so by making you piss a lot. So you lose minerals and electrolytes etc. so replenish these before you pass out.
And the loss of water literally shrinks the brain causing the headaches. Up chucking can help if you've really overdid it.
They said the hair of the dog remedy is mostly delaying the inevitable.
