He still has at least another 6 years of very good golf in front of him, and then another 3 behind that where he could pull one off. Oldest player to win a major was 48, and that wasn't someone with the talent level of Tiger.

I think he is still very capable of hitting a hot streak again. He has found his swing, just a question of staying healthy. He is simply too good to count him out at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins one this year.

So would you agree he has at best he has another 5-6 year window? I believe he is 39?

Jack who had the talent level (debatably more) won his last at 46 and like Tiger, back problems slowed him down towards the end of his prime.

I obviously agree that his health is the biggest wildcard here. His body has consistently been breaking down now the last 3-4 years. I think that trend will continue.

This is all of course just conjecture and opinion but I just think the combination of the wear and tear his body has taken and the competition, I think its less than even money he wins another one.

It will be 7 years in a few moths since he won his last major. 7 years! Now granted he took off 6 months after the cheating scandal came out and has had injuries that have kept him out of action but after he won his last major in 2008, how many of you would have bet a large amount he would win another before the 2015 Masters? I would have.

I will say his window is closing. If he doesn't win one in the next 3 years or so then it isn't going to happen.

Jack winning at 46 was an anomaly. We're probably never going to see something like that again.

Your right he hasn't won a major in 7 years but at the same time he has won 14 PGA events since then, 5 second places, and 35 top 10s in 83 starts.

Not too bad at all and that is considering he has missed the majority of 3 seasons <---------------------- But that is the key here. Can he stay healthy? If he can then he can win anywhere on any given day.

The guy just showed up @ the masters without playing competitive golf for a while and fires 5 under for the 8th best score.

Exactly. It's not like he was just gimping around the course this week. 5 under at Augusta after not playing for a while shows me he's on the verge of getting in a rhythm again. Golf is a rhythm game. This guy had to completely rework his swing, which takes sometimes years to master. Add injury into the mix and it could wipe out a career. If he can master this swing now, all he will have to do is find a rhythm and putt well for 4 days and he will be in the mix.

To me it's all about staying healthy. If he's healthy, he's winning. If not, we obviously know the answer. It's a huge "if" in golf though with back and knee issues.

Gotta hand it to my dad. He saw this shit coming way back in the 90's. He said "there is no way this guy will have a long career with that swing, too much torque on his back".

    I posted this:
    Tiger Woods is done.

I said 10 to 12 years ago he wouldn't break Jack record & I was looking pretty stupid for quite awhile & maybe it was just my hatred of the guy taking over at the time, but it's now looking good that he won't. Nobody just recovers from back surgery. Back problems/surgery have curbed the effectiveness of a lot of good players including Jack.

Also, I laugh when all the announcers fawn over Tiger saying he's a great ball striker. A lot of players on tour are way better but he would win on command because he was BY FAR the best putter all the time(maybe the best ever) & nobody was even close. Age is taking care of that for him & while he may still be capable of having a great putting weekend & win some tournaments the chances of doing it enough times to beat Jack's record I believe are slim to none.

about a year ago & always believed Tiger would never break Jack's record.

his talent window has come and gone

    the glory days are over

Lefty can run deep at his age because he has a passion for the game and loves to compete

Tiger doesn't have the passion for golf anymore

which is why he will never win another major

when Tiger decides to grace the golf world with his presence, he just looks pissed off and unhappy

thanks for playing 9 events a year bro

can't just float in after some range time and expect to compete with the likes of Rory and other world class grinders who slug it out on the tour week after week

    Tiger is done

With that said though, I personally don't believe he will win another major. He may but I definitely don't see him beating Jacks record. He may do a Pete Sampras and win one last major towards on the down slope of his career, but that will be it.

His body is broken down, age and injuries have caught up with him and the field is just too good. Insanely better than his 10 year or so run of dominance. Rory, Dustin, Zach, Bubba, this new kid Jordan (and the list can go on and on) are just so talented, healthy and younger I jut don't see it happening.

I never bought into the theory that Tiger dominated for so long because other golfers were scared of him. That was just the media doing what the media does.

I kind of wonder if that whole cheating, wife swinging the 4 iron at him thing never happened, would he be where he is now? He never was the same golfer after that. Was it just a combination of that scandal coming out and his skills declining coincidentally at the same time? Golf is also more of a mental game imo than any other game.

Look at David Duval. For a 3 year stretch or so, the guy just crushed it. Surpassed Woods as the number 1 golfer in the world. Broke 60 in a tourney and then BOOM...at an age where he should have been in his prime still, all the sudden he couldn't make the cut in some mutt tourney.

I never liked Tiger Woods. I always thought he was cocky, had no personality and was a poor sport.

What we are going to see over the next 5 years is the same pattern. Injuries, time off, more injuries..more and more missed cuts. The media will keep talking about him for the next 5 years even on the downswing just like they did Tyson. Tyson was NEVER even close to the fighter he was before prison but when he got released, fight after fight, loss after loss, the media kept predicting and waiting for him to return to form, which of course he never did.

Lol Tyson took a gig at Aladdin (beofre it became PH) in the casino in a cage hitting a punching bag for tourists to see, he was so desperate for money.

10 years from now, they gonna put a little island green in the Bellagio lake and have Tiger chipping from Las Vegas Blvd onto it?

He's done. GG. Peak is by far over. He may win a Nabisco tourney or the Houston Shell Oil Classic but that's about it.

great synopsis of the current dynamic on the PGA Tour

Tiger will never win another major because he lost his passion for the sport

he has too many deep seeded emotional issues from his fucked up back and his broken marriage/leaked texts & his fucked up sexual exploits banging skanks in the ass....what a scumbag

I love how all the ICONS of golf are praising Jordan Spieth for his ethics and family values and his dedication to golf

in other words....Jack and Arnold and pretty much every other notable personality in the golf world said 'fuck you Tiger'

You woke up confused and thought a dog turd smelled like the second cut at Augusta

Boros was no slouch in the all time great category. Don't forget, Tom Watson should have won the British at 58 years old. That would have been pretty amazing.

Don't like money out for that long but I would snap shove the over of .5 majors from now on.

Most of you sound silly. Tiger could die tomorrow and be the most important thing at the next 20 major tournaments.

Anyway hell of a comeback he will easily now win the ESPY for comeback of the year (hell should be comeback of the decade) in June.

Las Vegas bettor wins $1.19M on Tiger Woods’ Masters victory

One Las Vegas sports bettor has 1.19 million reasons to be happy for Tiger Woods.

When Woods clinched his fifth title at Augusta on Sunday afternoon, the unnamed bettor was eligible to cash in his $85,000 wager for $1.19 million at William Hill.

The individual made the bet on Tuesday inside one of William Hill’s Las Vegas sportsbooks at 14-1 odds.

“It’s great to see Tiger back. It’s a painful day for William Hill – our biggest golf loss ever – but a great day for golf,” William Hill sportsbook director Nick Bogdanovich said in a news release.

The win represents the largest golf payout in William Hill history.

Think of his recent use of roids not from the perspective of strength but more importantly the instant “feel good” roids provides.

Tiger’s win is a victory for all middle aged degenerates. There is hope no matter what you’ve done.

Early odds that Tiger Woods wins the 2019 US Open at Pebble Beach (a course that Woods has won on many times in the past)...9 to 1
